I agree. When you try to spell out exactly what might need to be done, you quickly realize just how complicated it would be. They also have much more pressing needs right now than just the shift. It's crazy to think that there are people reading this thread right now who can't actually remember when baseball was america's #1 game (or possibly #2).

I'd imagine that you would prohibit them from going back further than the dirt, but allow them to go as far forward as they want.
-
The obvious one is to say two infielders on each side of the field. I don't think there's any realistic way though to prevent teams from recreating the shift using outfielders. Just about the only dividing line for them would be the dirt/grass line and CF is already a position that has to be allowed to lineup on either side of the field.

So basically every single time that Jim Kelly charity golf tournament happens?
-
They would find a way to work around it if they came up with restrictions. It would have to be worded very specifically or else they could probably just use outfielders to dance around that. It's just like any other sport, creating new defensive schemes is much easier than people developing new talent.

We used to torture my mom with the polish jokes while growing up. My favorite was always what to do if a polish guy throws a grenade at you... pull the pin and throw it back.

They got their Rasmi mixed up twice actually. You can imagine how confused Ristolainen was initially when he got that invite.
-
All I can picture is a group of people using golf carts to circle the wagons and one person is on the ground in the middle.

You want them to live longer so that you have more time to hate them.
-
I see how it is. Instead of claiming that "I have black friends", you've now upped that to "I've helped provide care for underprivileged people in Africa". I'm sorry, but I'm not buying it, Costanza.?
-
At this point, they're going to have to trade him for Pacioretty just so we can be rid of all guys who are supposed to be traded but haven't been yet.
-
Emerick also feels the need to routinely tell you former teams of players during his play-by-play. I don't know about anyone else, but if I'm watching a Sabres-Bruins game, I don't care that Okposo is a former Islander.

I love it when a question comes to mind while reading a post and then that same post goes on to answer it (bolded). Did anything in this McCoy case suggest whether or not he was charging rent?

It's been ages since I've seen most of these movies. I really wish I could find the time/resources to sit down and watch them all again. I can't do justice to a best of/worst of list without refreshing my memory.

So basically the claim would be that he is required to provide security for the home?

Seeing as how they already use the original hockey stick logo as a shoulder patch, they don't actually have any other logo that they could bring back. They've only ever had that, the skate, and now the whale C. There's also the V neck thing, but that's not a logo.

Best Bond theme song: "You Know My Name" from Casino Royale. After that, Goldfinger has always stuck out in my mind the most, yes, even more than Live and Let Die.

How could the civil suit have any chance of moving forward when the actual attacker has yet to be identified? Even just going after him over the security system seems incredibly thin without that crucial bit of info. At this point, a disgruntled security company employee hacking the system is just as plausible as a thousand other possibilities. They're trying to cook an egg without actually buying the egg yet.

I always liked that jersey, but it does feel a bit odd to celebrate a 50th anniversary/season/whatever they're doing by bringing back a 33 year old logo.

Right, that would be the star portion of my post. Still, that only adds 2 or 3 teams to the list of big time draws, and that's in the case where your big star isn't already playing in one of the major markets.
-
Personally, I think it's going to blow up in their face. I don't blame them for trying something new, but I just don't think the audience that wants to see every single team is out there. The big markets and stars are always going drive these things in every sport.

So many of those moves were made to create the upcoming cap space, so you'd have to think that approach will change. I'll also be curious to see how it changes once he no longer has many of Whaley's guys left to ship away. Maybe he'll be fine unloading his own players in the same way, but only time will tell.
-
Does that happen much in the NFL though? Your example is the only one I can think of.
-
Wow, that's quite the write up. Before I get the chance to read it all, I just want to say that we need to ban anyone who quotes it in full.

And the most obvious question after seeing all of that... how does next season's free agency class shape up? Mack and Beckham are the most obvious potential free agents as of today, but once you move beyond re-signings and franchise tags, who is likely to be available?
