  1. Past hour
  2. I wish a reported would ask him something along the lines of, "Your mantra the past 5 years has been to get a better every day, and yet the opposite has been happening. The team has been getting worse under your leadership. Why do you think this year is any different?"
  3. I think McLeod/Greenway would be on a traditional checking 3rd line with Doan probably best suited as the 3rd checker. McLeod/Tuch would be more of a matchup 2nd line that would probably be maximized with Benson. Those are the 5 Sabres I’d say are the most reliable defensively. Ottawa used Norris as a primary defensive situations guy last year. Theoretically, the Sabres top 2 lines should better in their own zone this year with Cozens and Peterka no longer getting those minutes. The vibe I get is the Sabres are going to give Quinn every opportunity to rebound. Playing with Tuch and McLeod - defensively responsible, fast guys who can pass - is probably the best possible situation for him.
  4. Jerry Jones talks too much, and Terry Pegula doesn't talk at all. The ying and yang of bad ownership.
  5. There is such a disparity between how the owner oversees his football operation compared to the hockey operation. In the football operation, he ended up hiring a good coach and GM, and then without much interference allowed them to run the operation. Over the past five years or so, the Bills have been one of the most consistently well-run franchises in the league. Without question, it's a respected franchise in the league. In comparison, the hockey franchise has become a long-term stepchild that is not taken seriously in in the league. The silent owner's critical hires have gone beyond being bad to being simply odd. The hiring of KA made no sense other than he installed a sycophant who would allow him to intrude whenever he wanted to. And what's even worse is retaining him after his five-year record of abject failure. What followed was the fraudulent hiring process for a HC. It was a charade that fooled no one. The owner hired the person he wanted to in the first place, Ruff, and then amateurishly masked it as the end product of a legitimate search process. It seemed that nostalgia was the critical factor for the hire. Based on the record, it's not unfair to say that Pegula is one of the worst owners in the league. And based on the record, it's not unfair to say that KA is one of the worst GMs in the league. And few would argue that the Sabre's coaching staff that includes the assistants a very accomplished staff. This is not a recipe for success.
  6. Vivid. I was actually just going to check the schedule and ESPN links the ticket prices next to each game. The opener is actually down to $30. https://www.espn.com/nhl/team/schedule/_/name/buf/seasontype/2
  7. Lol an arena beer has 1/2 the value of a ticket in the top section. Good job, Terry!
  8. Today
  9. I’m truly shocked that anyone is paying money to go watch the Sabres play. Adams and crew are still here because they all had 1 year left on their contracts and they didn’t want to pay people not to be here. Adams is also the ultimate yes man who listens and does everything Terry says and will stand in front of the media and lie through his teeth and take all the bullets. The Sabres this year are built on the idea of hoping that a bunch of players all “take a step” which leads to sneaking into the playoffs. The same model that has worked so well the past decade and a half. The Sabres are not a serious organization and deserve an empty arena this season.
  10. This graphic encapsulates the Sabres perfectly. 15 years and they are no closer to contending than the year they started the rebuild. Disgusting.
  11. If that was true, by the end of the season the drunks would take over the venue, which might be fun!
  12. It certainly appears to be just a matter of time. Just keep winning.
  13. It was right at her feet. I am just so done with this! People just make sh it up, unreal
  14. He needs help. That ain’t ok considering the Sabres are the ones who employed him to scramble his noggin, they sure as hell better not cut ties cold turkey. That isn’t a way to uphold an image. Doesn’t mean he should be allowed near kids anymore tho, not unless he finishes some program
  15. I agree. Zucker Norris Thompson Quinn Kulich/McLeod Tuch Greenway Kulich/McLeod Benson Danforth/Malenstyn Krebs Doan
  16. Zucker-Norris-Tage. That's my top line season opener guess. I'm curious to what you said though. If you see McLeod as a center for a checking line who is that line? Who are the other two "checkers"? and then if you build that line what's line 2? Benson and Quinn? Tuch? As I type this I can't think of an arrangement I'd feel comfortable with.
  17. Saturday draft gets my vote.
  18. I’ve seen so many accounts where they post the weirdest stuff and have their employer, previous employers, home of record, spouse, and current city in their bio. Then you have the ones who post pictures of every second of their lives without removing the metadata. Same ones consider themselves content creators and influencers 😅 Then there’s the ones who use the same username across platforms where some require you to add your DoB. A simple open search gets you their DoB, PoB, city/state, immediate family, current/former address and phone number.
  19. -2LW -He’ll be in the top six unless Zucker outplays him -Doan on third line -Kulich is 3C to start -Krebs is 4C due to circumstance, not ability -Malenstyn Krebs Danforth
  20. 4 pm PST Monday I will be working. The rest would work
  21. Is Quinn the 3rd-line RW or do they switch him to the left to replace Peterka in the top 6? How long is his leash? Has Benson graduated to the top 6 or do they see him first as a checker? Do they intend to give Kulich every opportunity to be the other top 6 centre? Or does he get more favourable matchups on a 3rd line? Do they see Doan as bottom six grinder or will he get a shot with some of their better players? Same question with Greenway? Are Krebs and Danforth inked onto the 4th line or do they have any upward mobility? Malenstyn is a safe bet to be a 4th-line pounder, but is he an everyday player?
  22. So many ways the forwards can be arranged: Tage is the biggest offensive threat and will anchor a scoring line. Likely a RW, possibly at centre. Will they load him up with vets or ask him to carry kids again? Will Tuch join him on a true 1st line, be counted on to anchor a 2-way 2nd line, or will he be asked to carry kids? Will they use Norris as a 1C? Will it be with Tage, or with Tuch, or both? Will McLeod centre a 3rd line checking line, a 2nd line matchup line, or be asked to be the defensive conscience with some offensive wingers? Where in the top 9 do they plug Zucker?
  23. I like the idea of using preseason to let the actual roster stabilize. We don’t need a bunch of guys who aren’t making the opening roster take ice time that could be used to figure out line combos. Those guys can prove they deserve a call up in the minors.
  24. Hopefully, for the 1st time in the last 3 years they run a NORMAL preseason and actually not just try to optimize lines but actually succeed at it. 2 years ago they were too concerned with finding out which Amerks could fit into the top 6 / top 4 should injuries strike to bother figuring out which SABRES should be there in the 1st place. Last year, due to the abreviated camp they pretty much picked the lines and pairings before seeing if there might be some better chemistry to develop with a smidge of experimentation. They have ZERO excuses for not being ready to go from the day they host the Rags and hopefully they catch some teams still getting it together to build up a bit of a cushion for the inevitable stretches of bad injury luck or simply everyone being flat at the same time for about a week which almost all middling teams suffer at some point in the season.
  25. Pretty sure either set of dates / times would work. If not, autodraft can get me just as lousy a team as drafting legitimately would do. 😉
