I got hammered on gin drinks a couple years back in Laval and had a great time, I can speak a tad of French so I crap talked in French. Drive from Ottawa into Montreal and took the train to Bell Place. Amerks scored that night first to make it 1-0 and I was the only one who cheered, got some heat for that. Then I went to get more gin and in the time I was gone, Laval made it 4-1😂😂 ultimately losing 8-1 I believe. But it was a blast and the locals ribbed me but we were all laughing as well. The one guy started counting the goals against but was missing half of his ring finger so when he got to that I got him good, said in French "Laval has 3.5 goals" sweet buddy 😂😂 My gal had to drive my drunk @ss back to Ottawa as I couldn't even think about it, but not before hitting some greasy spoon on the outskirts for a rueben and poutine lol. Would Def go again for the atmosphere and the gin drinks lol. But seems like the Amerks just can't beat them.

The amount of bogus sports news out on the web is just incredible. Don't bother reading anything from Sports Illustrated. They allow fans and basement bloggers to submit articles for web reading . Total garbage. My dog could bark more sense.

I want Carolina and Edmonton but it's gonna be Dallas and Florida. That will be a war with 2 goalies playing out of their mind to boot.

I would have said the last time they made the playoffs...

I have little problem with first time NHL coaches. I have very little problem with first time GMs when they are brought in by legitimate hockey people such as Front Office Senior Execs and/or POHOs, and the new GM is joining a stable organization and not on an island with only Terry Pegula. You can defend Terry's approach but it is not the same as everyone else in the league. He put his wife in charge, he runs things lean, he hires people he can control, he does not spend to the cap. His record speaks for itself.

It was.

That was one impressive 3rd period by Dallas. Must be awesome to have an actual NHL team.

Yes. She was Eleanor Roosevelt Roosevelt. If her middle name was Rosario she could come back as a voice on NPR. Her uncle was Teddy. She married a distant cousin in Franklin.
-
Weren't they related, like cousins or something? Could her name have been Roosevelt, too? Or am I confusing that with another president?
-
No googling. What was Eleanor Roosevelt's maiden name? I must have missed this day in history class.

The players we draft are not aggressive enough. I do get points made but like Power, you cannot instill that style of hockey into someone that does not play that way. I get that is what the AHL is for, but if our farm team is having that problem at the AHL level, it is not going to get better when they get to the NHL. I do agree that having more skilled players is nice, but this team is not built to make it all the way. This team is not able to handle that next level physicality that comes in the playoffs in both the NHL and AHL.

I’m not sure what I’m pounding the table for, but whatever we’re getting now,… ain’t it.

The Billionaires Bill passed the house today...
-
People keep pounding the table for experience and less meddling even while with the final four teams we have; two first time coaches three first time GM’s and one owner considered more meddlesome then TPEGS

She’s here this week. And it took all of one cardinal for her to tell my son how special it is to see one. She has no idea that at this point, the kid has seen more cardinals than anything else.

Nothing remains today from the original 70's team except the Uni's and logo. The root of why everything was better in 1975 than today is simple. The ownership (Knox's) was far better and engaged on the right things, they in turn hired better leaders across the organization and they let them do their jobs. That said, the league is different today, there are way more teams, there is a salary cap, there is free agency, there are teams in the land of palm trees and no state taxes, and players today are much different and motivated by different things. The only blueprint that Pegula needs to follow its to put together an experienced and proven Hockey Operations FO and let them do their jobs. He has yet to do that. Look at his hires: three first times GMs, one first time POHO that lasted just a few months, his wife and some friends/acquaintances from Pittsburgh and Penn State. Knox hired Imlach, Bowman, Meehan, and Muckler. Big difference.
