So Mahomes bouncing a pass off of his own lineman’s helmet… is that not a penalty anymore?

Hecht may be done for the year. Achilles.

Levi will make it in Buffalo or elsewhere. He's not going to be a legend, but a solid tandem guy is within reach. Leenders maybe. As long as Adams is GM, Leinonen will get a fair (or unfair) look in Sabreland. Mrtka, Novikov, Strbak. And I think Osburn: the kid sees the game well. Kleber is the one I don't know, but I assume he will because of his draft status and size. He'll get chances. I do think Poltapov will arrive as a 3W. How long he's in Buffalo I don't know, but I think he gets a full season in the bottom 6 and acquits himself fine which leads him to a good little 2-3 years at minimum. Kozak is already in if can stay healthy. Rosén, Östlund, Helenius, Wahlberg, Zeimer, and Richard make it for me. They all can fit on a roster if it's constructed well.

Really good right up here, but I want to add that I’m pretty sure Ovi has always typically sat at the very end of the bench closest to the opposing goal, regardless of where the rest of his line is. -
The Bills are well run under McDermott and Beane. However, not drafting Worthy and dropping down to take Coleman was a glaring miscalculation.

I’m sure that he doesn’t want out. But he’s a veteran who is well aware of the business side of the game. He’s said in an interview that I listened to that he’s not bothered by the contract negotiations because it is in the hands of his agent. I consider him to be a core/essential player. His stats are good but his leadership value is immeasurable. I expect a deal will get done because management recognizes his value to the team and organization. For an organization that has a had a lot of instability, he’s a pillar of stability. -
Someone needs to break out their old Jochen Hecht jersey for a bills game. The D keeps giving the offense the chance to step on their throats. It’s time to follow up.

Disagree. Conservative play always loses to the Chiefs. It was just a bad play call

The turning point for bishop?? It took him a while to develope.. We shall see.

So you're sayin' they just need to win, to get the most points and have a winning record. Your logic is sound. -
I thought no way on that one. CLUTCH by DE well done.
-
Going for it on 4th and 2 at midfield in the first quarter was a terrible decision by the Bills. Way too early in the game to take that kind of risk — flip the field, trust your defense, and play smart football.
-
Worthy pounded the Bills on that run...and lets keep running when its working.

This is a great Ted talk about how and why athletes do better over time. I can’t help but think it might apply here, though I totally admit I have no evidence. We all know that goalie equipment got way better from the early 1980’s when Bob Sauve was playing. That made goalies better by the 90’s. Just wonder if the sticks shooters are using have also taken a recent bigger step forward. I know they have gotten better in the past but has there been a recent step forward in stick technology? On top of that, has training in shooting improved? I know baseball players have programs for biomechanics that improve them, hockey players surely must also

Now that we are into the season, which prospects do you consider future NHL players. I think this is a pretty good list of who in our system has a chance (some more than others) of becoming an everyday NHL player. That said, who do you think will actually make it. I'm feeling better about Rosen and Levi. Mrtka looks like a future star, and I like Kozak as a long-term depth NHLer. Anyone else? Goalies? Levi, Ratzlaff, Leenders, Leinonen Defense? Mrtka, Novikiov, Komarov, Strbak, Kleber, Osburn. McCarthy, Bedkowski? Forwards? Kozak, Rosen, Östlund, Helenius, Wahlberg, Zeimer, Neuchev. Richard

He said he wants to stay and the Front Office said he is the number 1 priority but we will see what happens. He is not a SS anymore his D isn’t good enough. He would be perfect at 2B with Gimenez at SS. If he is dead set on being a SS I think it limits his suitors big time. World Class bat.
-
In a thread about goalies sucking, this is the greatest typo of all time. But yeah, you’re dead on. This isn’t new. The dead puck era died a long time ago.
-
Any idea what Bichette might be thinking? I think teams might be lining up to make offers.

I think he is trying to say if the Sabres win 5 out of every 9 games they play, they'll have 45 wins. That should be more than enough to make the playoffs. The Sabres have won 5 of the last night, but only 5 of 12 for the season. -

I recall only one knee hit and I thought the other gut did it to Greenway. When you are tall its easy to look like you are targeting someone's head. The replay on the head hit showed nothing that indicates it was intentional, the other player was leaning forward to follow through on his pass. Lucky no one was injured but that's hockey and the Sabres have been on the wrong end of those plays way too often in the recent past. Greenway is not known as a dirty player.
