The thing I can’t wait for though is the next time Adams lies through his teeth saying there is absolutely no financial constraints on him. I would rather a day like this than Adams getting stupid and trading Helenuis for Rust. I wonder how Byram will shake out.

Just mean you’ve got NHL goalies under contract for the next two years. So no logical seat for Devon. Not that the Sabres couldn’t move on from 1.5MM, but we pinch pennies all over the place so the second year is weird.

Florida wins the Cup unless Carolina gets Ehlers, but that still may not be enough. Detroit will take the 8 spot with the Rangers jumping back in the top 8. Buffalo will finish 14,15 or 16 in the East. Dahlin and Tuch are gone end of next year and the teardown begins again. I Reallyyyy hate this organization and everyone in it.

I was hoping we would make a run at one of the top forwards knowing we probably would not. Looks like another 80 point season coming up. That roster has little chance of being a playoff team. Lots has to go right.

Pretty much a fail on day 1. We all understand free agency is not a good time to add players. But TP and by extension KA continue to do what they do well to keep this team irrelevant and pretty much a clown show. Just give us some hope for once will ya.

I don’t know if it’s tied at all to Byram, but I suspect the SAbres have legit interest in Ehlers and probably made a pitch: they have the roster fit and they have money. But I suspect other teams have more money and/or better fits. I think in terms pipe dreams, we have a better chance with Robertson if that one is real. Dallas has been quiet and we have the picks and prospects.

Unfortunately there aren’t any local billionaires interested in buying the team. A sale would likely be followed with a move to another city. Buffalo would never get a team back.

Most definitely true. I'm a little confused with what Boston is doing (other than signing Jeannot to be Hagens bodyguard) but they aren't sitting pat that's for sure. Detroit and Montreal definitely better.

Honestly at this point overpaying Mangiapane would at least be SOMETHING.

Another take.....all of the teams we are competing against are getting better. Meanwhile in Buffalo, the team is excited about the 4th line, 5/6 D, backup goalie and AHL signings they made today.

I have come to the firm belief this wrong. Terry is in fact the actual GM. Adams is merely his puppet who handles the paperwork, makes the calls, does whatever he's told. Terry pulls all the strings and that is why he didn't fire Adams. Good puppets are hard to find.
