  1. Past hour
  2. Lol, I was just making light of the reaction to winning by some. How dare they play like that! And double LoL to those who insist on describing the Sabres as being in "dead last" when the Eastern conference is so tight.
  3. How bad is THEIR goaltending that Georgiev is considered to be an answer?
  4. Zach should play tomorrow, I'm guessing. If he goes to top line there will probably be a ripple effect through all the lines. Kozak sits?
  5. Don't think he is back yet from that Wilson hit a month ago, career is close to being over. It's his 5th concussion injury?
  6. Geertsen scores in his first game with the Amerks. 2-1 good guys in the 2nd.
  7. I think the same. Not that age is an absolute with respect to leadership. Experience (games played) and skill also help shape the locker room mindset. But I was curious to see how many “veterans” Verbeek brought in to Anaheim. Their rebuild is progressing faster than in Buffalo. Shocker. I was surprised to find 6 starting forwards, 2 Dmen and 1 goalie over 30. Granlund, Vatrano, Killorn, Strome, R. Johnson and Kreider. Gudas and Trouba on D and Mrazek in Goal. Buffalo has Zucker and that’s it over 30 at Forward. Zero D are 30, and Lyon checks the box for Goal. Sure the Sabres median age is older with Tuch, Tage, Greenway, Beck, Timmons, McLeod and others closer to 30 than 20, but there is something about the grizzled vet. The Ducks “average age” compared to other teams moved from 4th (2024) to 10th this year. Buffalo moved from the youngest in 2024 to third youngest. Leave Adams in charge and I’m positive he could trade Tuch and others, and replace with guys like Rosen and Östlund, and bring down the average age back to lowest in the League. #Blueprint.
  8. They were plastic.
  9. Yesterday
  10. Weren't those plastic? (If they were porcelain, will definitely have to hit E-bay looking for one for wifey.) Am expecting since they're giving vouchers to people as they enter tomorrow rather than the butter dishes themselves that they'll be porcelain. (The butter dishes, not the vouchers.) And expect, if they are porcelain that quite a few would be broken before the game ends. No sense creating problems that are foreseeably avoidable.
  11. Owen Power is 23 tomorrow. Happy Birthday Owen! Beat Carolina. He is now in his 4th full season in the NHL.
  12. So Spoonman is really Danny Gare?
  13. Last year, we received our gravy boats upon entry. (And yes, people did turn them into drinking vessels.)
  14. Indeed. I'm not much of a college football person, but I was on the scrolling seat myself.
  15. No doubt. After all these years I do watch with a very critical eye. Remember when they blew Toronto out? What did that amount to? Nothing. Win or lose I won't get excited until I see consistent effort.
  16. Every year there are guys who fall due to some biases and they all get picked at a certain point when they fall far enough for a team to think it's worth the gamble. Benson is no different.
  17. The games he’s missed have already started to paint the picture of what he “is”, though, that’s the point. It all counts. Best ability is availability “the results” is always the answer to “what do we have” - the context of my post was Norris-in-so-far-as-he-contributes-to-the-result-this-year, and not a definitive analysis and judgment on his once and future career The context is the team build. “What we have” is currently a roster pacing for 78 points
  18. Cozens has 15 points in 20 games this year but is already a -11. Yikes. That's really hard to do.
  19. Well we don’t necessary know what they have with Norris. Yes, he tends to be made of glass but we were saying the same thing about Samuelsson this time last year. He could be a Norris candidate if he keeps it up (not saying he will). I’m just saying we will have to see what happens with Norris when he gets back. Hopefully he doesn’t break the second he touches the ice on his first game back. 🤞
  20. the job of the GM is to build a team that is good not one that is incrementally better than the sh*tty one he just built. It’s not good enough to just be “better than the guy who was an awful 2C”, the goal is still “good 2C” There’s no logical reason Adams’ failure to field a proper 2C grants him lowered expectations going forward for the position. ”anything we get from Norris is gravy” would be applicable if he wasn’t the planned 1C / 2C: gravy in terms of “winning the trade” but building a good team far supersedes that as an aim I mean great, we don’t need anything from Norris to justify the trade. But we need something from him to justify the damn roster
  21. Well, typically, there's 4 of them.
  22. Benson was a special case.
  23. The player you traded him for was a net negative. Anything positive out of Josh Norris is gravy. You got a bad player off your team.
  24. This just inspired me to scan through the scores. Wow, there’s a lot of cupcakes today.
  25. For some fans one win resets the clock. It’s where expectations have cratered to. The regime is always one solitary win away from “well maybe the plan is working after all”. Sort of masterful on the team’s part in a way.
