For most NGB'S the junior dev staff are so incredibly mediocre. The fact that guys like Carle keep getting the call up for the world champs and the US Dev guys just bumble around doesn't give me any confidence that USA Hockey is any different. That's the same model I'm familiar with. Keep some good vibes people on staff. Then bring in the HC or an assistant from Cal (or whatever( to run the show for the u19 or u23 world championships.

Kevyn Adams as General Manager. Maybe even a promotion to President of Hockey Operations at some point.

So what I'm reading they are having trouble finding anyone since it could be a 1 year situation and it's below Adams who might get fired NEXT year. If that's their approach I'd assume that yes, they'd have trouble finding someone. In my view the only way this works is if they put Adams on notice (playoffs or you are done) and they hire an experienced senior advisor to sit ABOVE Adams and answer only to Pegula with a 5 year deal. The understanding with him being if Adams fails the senior advisor will be empowered to fire everyone and oversee the new hires. Otherwise, it's BS.

There are plenty of high caliber people who wouldn’t take the job under the parameters the owner has established. The main reason for declining is that the system and conditions established by the befuddled owner is a situation designed to fail.

It's not an unknown reason. He's not defensively sound and Cassidy only plays guys he relies on. VO is a depth player who fills in for the injured.

I don’t think 31 other teams have a President and several of the ones that do were just playing musical chairs to keep a valued assistant GM. Titles aren’t important anyway. Having someone competent at the top, regardless of the title, is what matters.
