  1. Past hour
  2. Ouch. Still, think Makenstyn is a 4th Line Stud who loves to hit and brought much needed toughness to the team. His example is rubbing off on others. And, he has moves. That deke on Aho and goal on Andersen was a masterpiece. No telling when he might surprise us again.
  3. I really, really like Tage at center more. I don't know if the numbers show he is better at center or wing, but when I watch him, I think he plays better at Center...and he seems to me to do his best work with the puck in the center of the nice, not from the dots out to the boards.
  4. Its like they really, REALLY want an excuse for UPL to be the #1 starter. They will go out of their way to give him every chance over any other goalie on the roster, probably until he either turns into who he was 2 years ago, or he throws up on himself so bad he takes the team down with him.
  5. No great teams, but some good teams. Carolina is good, but just like most years, not 'good enough' to be a dominant team. Washington is good. Not great, but solid. New Jersey is good. But they just can't get Jack Hughes to be healthy enough to challenge 'great'. Actually, I thought there would be more. Thats all I have.
  6. Crosby and McDavid play two different games. McDavid is all speed and flash, Crosby is more gritty and cerebral. In the debate about who's better at their peaks, the McDavid fans tend to look purely at the skill (to which there is little argument on who's better) but look too little on Crosby's superior IQ and strength on the puck. The fact of the matter is that for all Mcdavid's flash, he should be winning the Art Ross every year by at least 20 or 30pts. But... MacKinnon and Kucherov are always right there with him. Those two are very highly skilled in their own rights, but aren't at McDavid level. However, they make up for it with grit (esp MacKinnon) and IQ (esp Kucherov). And remember that 99 guy with 2857 career points never stood out skill wise. He just thought the game at a level his competition could not.
  7. At least not until Florida gets healthy.
  8. Hughes is hooking up with Tate McRae. He’s in no rush to hurry back
  9. But our bangers are better spread through it the lineup. Not just 4th line anymore.
  10. Or when it comes to the eastern conference this year, there are no good teams.
  11. 4 pm PST. ESPN + for the out of town residents. Lines anyone? Not these lines….
  12. In honor of the annual complaint Wednesday, no sooner than when I finished telling my wife how bad of an idea it is to let our 1 year old walk around with a glass snack bowl, she then dropped and broke the glass cake stand she was washing. I hate those moments where you have to bite your tongue.
  13. Today
  14. I like the cut of your jib
  15. UPL had net to himself in practice.
  16. Typically you see Sidney as male, and Sydney as female?
  17. Not the one's who starve to death.
  18. I get ghosted by a lot of people... so yes?
  19. If they win, I'm happy. If they lose, I might throw up. If I throw up I will have more room for Thanksgiving indulgence, so I'm happy. Either way. I will be happy.
  20. Maybe... and believe me I might already have seriously kicked into the holiday weekend drinking festivities.. but maybe.. The Sabres can help facilitate a 3-way trade that puts Hughes in NJ and shakes free a NJ player? I mean, I understand that Kevyn Adams might be the only person who doesn't like a 3-way... but perhaps Jarmo is open to it? Wow, that post is going to read strange later on. Especially since I've actually been working all day and haven't jumped into drinking yet.
  21. No. It was on deadline day. 😇 The closest Adams has gotten was sending the conditional 2025 NSH 7th he got in the Asplund trade to Columbus for F Eric Robinson. That was on 12/6/2023. The conditions were not met (45 GP in Buffalo, he only played 40), Buffalo kept the pick and it became: F Melvin Novotny Robinson was... ineffective with the Sabres. But in two seasons with Carolina, Robinson has 98 GP 19-19-39 and a +12 in 12:03 minutes/game. 143 hits. We like Malenstyn for his PK work, and he throws some solid hits. His Robinson replacement numbers in the Sabres lineup: 97 GP 6-8-14 and -20 in 10:44. 261 hits
  22. Well, the Sabres will be out of it tomorrow morning (standings-wise) regardless. The Thanksgiving thing is really just a self-evident observation that 1/4 of the way through the season there will be clear good teams and clear bad teams. Last year at Thanksgiving, Boston, The Rangers, Calgary, and Vancouver were in playoff positions. They missed, replaced by Montreal, Ottawa, Edmonton, and St. Louis. So, it is entirely likely there will be some changeover between now and April.
  23. So calling a dude “Karen”….
  24. So, I woke up at 12:37am, in the Puumba section of the Animal Kingdom lodging at Disney, flight left at 8am, landed back in Buffalo at 10:19am. 6 glorious days of Disney, the weather perfect each day. I was able to see the highlights of the missed games, follow their exploits through you all. I miss the sun, the 80 degrees no humidity and the pure bliss a vacation brings. But Its game night, time to get back to business with our beloved Sabres. They will win tonight, if for no other reason than I’m already 3 beers in to a Canadian 12 pack I picked up on the way home……..ya, I have faith…..no……hope……no, no, not those, I have the determination in my mind that this team will play like a herd of stampeding Buffalo tonight….. Penguins 2 Sabres 6 So let it be written, So let it be done… GO SABRES!!!!!!!!!!!!
