  1. Past hour
  2. Terry and his meddling...
  3. Well, they are competing against the Bandits for fanbase and losing badly
  4. Florida’s facility is great, awesome, and probably in a league of its own. Reminds me of the Bills facility, which looks much bigger and better than Floridas and includes an indoor practice field for winter. Harbor Center was pretty nice at one time and still is in good repair and probably could be expanded into some of the other levels. The Sabres dressing room was already refreshed to one of the tops in the league when Pegula took over. In the 70’s and 80’s the Sabres were a good destination for many players. The team was always in the playoffs, the Aud was always packed, and players did not avoid Buffalo, lots of players lived in Buffalo for many years and a bunch still do. Anyone who thinks otherwise was not close to the team back then. JUST START WINNING. Veteran Free Agent players want to win. If you’re not a winning team they won’t sign unless it’s for a big paycheck. The action, or inaction, of the Sabres ownership and their FO is telling the hockey world that the Sabres do not know how to win and are not trying to win - probably both.
  5. Today
  6. Florida is just running roughshod over the Hurricanes. The series is a joke. The score is 16-4 over the 3 games and Florida has never scored less than 5 goals in any of the games and Hurricanes have never scored more than 2. They are getting shellacked.
  7. Some players manage to make a living playing indoor (NLL), then outdoor (PLL), and hold lax camps in between.
  8. What could've been if they'd've grabbed Zito rather than Botterill. He likes that same style that Murray was trying to build but unlike Murray he actually factors in the chemistry between the players. That is a very fun team to watch. My 2nd or 3rd favorite team at this point.
  9. I just don't believe, nor think it's factual that the majority of TP's ownership, there has not been a commitment to win. I actually think he over committed at times and that didn't work. The last few years, IMO, have been a reset (lack of a better term) because of the financial over commitment.
  10. There's a few injuries now and if they are serious Florida might have trouble repeating against a healthy Edmonton squad (or Dallas) but otherwise this is looking like a repeat in the making. Man is that a well oiled machine that plays as a team. ERod clearing the front of the net! I mean talk about small guys not afraid to play big. Orlov on the other hand played like he wants to go on summer vacation.
  11. You hear things now and again that Dudley has had a real influence on how Florida came together. Not an in the spotlight guy now but I think he quietly has a huge impact. Florida certainly plays his style that's for sure.
  12. Let’s Go Bandits!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Florida steamrolling the Canes this series.
  14. The hurricanes look like the 1980 Russian team. Time to get new helmets/jerseys
  15. Congrats to the Bandits and all their fans in here! I've only been to a few games over the years, but it's a blast. Full respect to all the players, many of whom have day jobs and families, but keep doing it for the love of the game.
  16. And Carolina is going to be ancient history They have depth scoring, great goaltending, and they hit! I don’t want Edmonton to ever win as long as McDavid is there! Let him suffer
  17. Canes are cooked. Florida headed to the finals for the third straight year. Amazing turnaround for that franchise.
  18. When does Adams ever make sense? As to Rosen, he has value. Maybe it's just a 2nd or 3rd pick, maybe it's a depth NHLer, but he has value. The guys had 55 pts in 61 AHL games and has 6 pts (5 goals) in 7 playoff games. He also just turned 22. Savoie got us McLeod and Savoie's production this year was 54 pts in 66 AHL games. His NHL numbers are nearly identical to Rosens 5gms 1 ast -4. He is 21. That said, this is a D thread. Would you trade either of the young Russian D as part of a deal to get a veteran D?
  19. It would be a good place to start. We all know the culture needs a shake up and it doesn’t happen by running it back with the youngest team, an incompetent GM and a below average coaching staff. Adding vets that are beyond their best before dates like Staal and EJ to a bunch of kids doesn’t work when their bodies can’t back up their words. If their hearts aren’t into it (Staal) there is no way the kids will buy what these guys are selling. It’s not like dropping a still great Messier into a Rangers lineup. Even he had a bunch of older winners to back him up. The Zucker signing was a step in the right direction and they need a few more like that. Dudley would bring a winning pedigree and tons of management experience. If brought in, he should be given the reins to get rid of dead weight and bring in some competent people. These people’s standards would be to bring in players who hate to lose, which is such a higher bar than “want to be here”. There are some good pieces in Buffalo, there just needs to be a team builder at the top. Players will come if there are positive changes and the team starts winning. If a guy like Dudley is given the keys to the franchise smart hockey people will want to learn from and work with him. The tide will raise all boats, attracting quality talent to every part of the organization. These guys would not have a soft spot for existing players like Bryson and others, and would just make better roster decisions. The coaching staff would also be changed. I am not saying that Dudley is the messiah, but he would bring way more to the table than the present option. This is my longest post in a long time, not sure why I bothered, because the idiot at the top of the food chain isn’t doing anything.
  20. It is a Sabres board. Gotta tie it in somehow. I've now watched the last three of these championships and a bunch of games during season. It's awesome!! So fun. It ain't no Stanley Cup.
  21. The Panthers' PP can be very Sabre-like.
  22. He was drafted four years ago and in the 15 games he has played with the Sabres he has one assist, and is -6. His fancy stats were bad as well Another Jerry Forton Special
  23. Matt Vinc (and the Bandit D) gave up: 4 goals 3 goals 9 goals 10 goals 11 goals and 6 goals in the 6 playoff games they played. Absolutely amazing.
  24. Not a defender… Reinhart out of the lineup tonight. Stepping into the Panthers lineup: Jesper Boqvist. At this point, that’s the level of player I’m hoping Rosén is able to become.
  25. Goalie change for Carolina. Worked in 2005-06. I don’t think it’s gonna be enough this time.
