  1. Past hour
  2. Kevyn Adams on Byram: “A lot of conversations with his agent right now and nothing’s changed in the sense that we believe Bo is an excellent hockey player who can help our team win. I maintain the same position that if there’s a deal out there that makes sense for us that we think is going to improve our roster, we’re open to it. If there’s not, we’re not in a situation where we’re looking to move him out or looking to move him for futures and stuff like that. For me, we want to help our team win hockey games, and he does that.”
  3. If they’re living in dream world, they better be planning on getting McKenna and McDavid. It wouldn’t surprise me if GMKA couldn’t think that up even in his wildest fantasies though.
  4. You can emulate Florida when you don't trade your stud #2 overalls for futures and they're able to carry the load, and sometimes on very nice contracts based on when they signed. Once you lose those studs (Eichel/Barkov; Reinhart/Reinhart), you can spread the money, but you don't have the elite players to build around. Plus, Florida's internal cap is rebuffed by Zito and LTIR. The Sabres internal cap seems to always be about $8M or more.
  5. If you are saying that Ruff isn’t much of a factor in these offseason transactions, then I respectfully but strenuously disagree with you.
  6. Maybe Ehlers, but someone is going to massively overpay for 25-30 goals a season.
  7. Is there anyone still on the market that can truly improve this cluster ***** of a team?
  8. My calculation is simple: if you don’t get a fair value return for him I. e. second line forward, then your team is not better if he is dealt. He’s more of an offensive defense than defensive stalwart. I recognize what his assets and liabilities are as a defender. But not getting a reasonable deal for him doesn’t help this team, it sets it back.
  9. Well the Sabres start to gut the roster of all talent it will be like what happened before. Until then, trading an unprotected 2026 first for a team that has been a lottery team for the past 14 years, is foolish.
  10. I wouldn't either. Leave this joke of an organization while you can
  11. Wtf is every single thing a "Ruff influenced decision?" This isn't the 1st time this team has done this. They traded for Kahun back before Ruff or even Adams was here. Then they let him walk. This is YOUR Buffalo Sabres. Personally expect, if anything, this is a Wilford influenced decision; which pretty much by definition makes it an idiotic one.
  12. This is not true. Byram is not a UFA until the summer of 2027. Under your scenario, we would be able to (and probably need to) sign or trade him next summer before he signs another offer sheet.
  13. Back then they had to try to lose.. now it's just natural.
  14. Well, he's getting an interview.
  15. Tuch will be the gauge of that statement. I don't expect him to re-sign given what's been done so far.
  16. I strongly believe that the Docker departure is a Ruff influenced decision. What did you expect from Ruff-KA-Pegula organization? If you expected some smart and strategic thinking coming from this faded group, you are being unrealistic. Mediocrity begets more mediocrity.
  17. Well, this time will be different. They won't have upper management crowing about losing on purpose. 😉
  18. Well sure, he hasn't had to pay Byram, Timmons, nor Levi yet. That's $14MM glistening in Pegula's eye. They'll like it a lot less when they're within $5MM of the cap (maybe even $3MM).
  19. It's probably the unspoken strategy of the team. Let's get McKenna. It worked well when they tried it with McDavid.
  20. Untrue. Byram doesn't qualify to be a UFA until '27. So, signing a 1 year deal leaves him 1 year from becoming a UFA.
  21. I've nothing else to say... but curious about the bolded. How does this even happen? 🙂
  22. I don’t agree tbh. Adams is terrible and he still got to 91 points under Terry. The opportunity was clearly there for huge gains and he utterly missed the boat. A better GM couldn’t have pushed that forward under Terry? 1 point was a magical barrier? Terry is bad but that need not limit our impression of Adams who is worse as a GM than Terry is an owner. Fact. And Terry stinks as an owner because he won’t spend. A good GM could have shown the mental baby that is Terry the light Adams is a doofus but also a liar and disingenuous. Terry is an old rich guy. Your general connotations of those descriptors should suffice nicely
  23. Sounds familiar, no?
  24. More mismanagement by this regime. I find it hard to believe nobody is offering anything of significance other than futures for Byram. This guy is a 1 dimensional defenseman who only plays at a high level with Dahlin. The thing is Dahlin did fine even with lunkhead Samuelsson as his partner. Find a Dante Fabbro type player for Dahlin and trade Byram for a much needed top forward. If we go into the season as is there is no way you can tell me we got better without Peterka.
  25. ik in the grand scheme JBD isn't that important but when there is a bad process, it is a symptom of the rot.
