I would like to see anyone but Tre out there at this point. Why not try Ingram and see if he has some juice. I'm hoping that one or both of Strong and Hairston are able to return this season. It's the Micah Hyde effect with Strong -- vague neck injuries and consultations with out of town specialists seem ominous. And I think it's 50-50 that they'll redshirt Hairston. Really good takes -- except re: the uniforms. I still thought those were sorta cool. (I have the emotional maturity of a 14 year old.)

Mixed weekend for the purple army. A 5-1 walloping away to Guildford followed by a 3-2 win in Sheffield. Highlight for the Clan included a 3 point weekend for early POTY candidate Tristan Langan. Poolman also grabbed another assist. However having played more matches in the league than their rivals, the clan currently sit in first place. Long may it continue. Selling out the arena for the opening game is not an achievement, especially when a quarter or more of the fans are rooting for the visiting team. Regardless what the announced attendance was for games last year, when I watched the games I saw a lot of empty seats that belied the announced tickets sold. When a person has a purchased ticket and can’t go to the game and can’t give it away, that is telling and an indictment. I want the Sabres to succeed and am rooting for them. But what I see is what I see.

What's funny is this team could have Bernard-Docker or Grezlyc for basically the same money but went with Jones and Bryson. Just amazing how much they mismanaged the easy parts.

I think that's a problem. If you aren't willing to defend yourself or you teammates because Gertie is sitting on the bench, your team is going to be weaker not stronger. Not saying that's what will happen but toughness is a team effort.

Given the tenor of this board, I think it’s a little surprising that less than 1000 seats remain for Thursday’s game.

I watched Geertsen a lot last season on the Silver Knights and I’m totally shocked he made the Sabres. He never stood out in any way. Yes, he will drop the gloves but other than that he’s not gonna do anything.

IMO this club crossed the line the day “F off and die” was used followed by attempts to explain it away. Shortly after, the overt calling for the U.S. to “burn” down and advocation of people suffering to achieve a political/ideological goal. Whether in agreement or not this club has documented statements of a radicalized nature within less than a year of the current POTUS election. Shut it down.

4 games for Sabourin as well and 2 games for Moser although I'm not sure either were going to be on the NHL roster so not sure how that plays out. Panthers of course get nothing because they were the poor innocent victims and we all know what a clean and upstanding team they are who never get fined or suspended for anything. Lady Byng candidates up and down that line up.

There were a bunch of goalies that could have been traded for when expansion happened. Ullmark was a free agent so they didn't need to protect him and could easily have added one of them, from teams that had two, cheap. I am sure Adams just assumed Ullmark would take his offer and it was a dumb decision. You're kidding right? No disrespect to Geertsen, I like him, but he's no match for the heavyweights. Personally I want to root AGAINST Edmonton for the next two years as I am sure if he doesn't win McDavid will leave after this good faith extension. I hate to cheer for Montreal. I have historically always hated them, but I simply like the way they are rebuilding. If they can get in and knock out Toronto I'm happy with that. Then they can lose to whichever Florida team survives. We all know however that Los Angeles will go to the final and lose, because they have Perry.
