Sabres announce Jarmo Kekalainen Hired as Senior Advisor

Too bad if it’s not this summer. You are probably right about that aspect though. Just trying to see how this settles in, still, honestly. Can’t decide if I’m comfortable with it yet re: removing that conflict of viewing interest I have mentioned, personally. It’s certainly a good move. Whether it’s satisfactory for me I’m still deciding -
I honestly don’t even think about goalie upgrades. We are going on 6 years now it’s just not an area Adams addresses. I guess with Jarmo in the fold I should at least start considering the possibility If we see a substantial move, it’s likely due to his influence

@Brawndo you can be our mole in the draft room and whisper @LGR4GM draft suggestions to those in the room making the selections. If caught, do what an accomplished spy would do i.e deny, deny and continue to deny. If that doesn’t work just spill the beans and blame @Pimlach for the espionage plot. He’s expendable.

Just because he can play on his off-hand, doesn’t mean he should. Dahlin provides flexibility that other defenders do not but for planning, it needs to be RD. In addition, others on the farm (little Nikita and RJ) are LD and will soon need a vet RD to support. Let’s cross that bridge now in stead of waiting like they did with Owen.

Upon some reflection, I think JK is likely to be the next GM, but it hasn't been promised to him and it won't be this summer. I think TP wants to take a look at JK, see how things go this summer with JK a full participant and see how the season starts off. If it's a poop show, KA is gone and TP can decide about JK at that point. If it goes well and the team looks good, he can decide about both of them at that point. No one is hiring either of them away in the meantime. From JK's perspective, the 2024 and 2025 GM hiring seasons went by and he wasn't able to grab a spot. So this keeps him in the NHL and in the on deck circle for a GM job that is reasonably likely to open up soon (and for a billionaire owner who hasn't done so lately but previously spent to the cap and showered the franchise with money). That's a pretty good landing spot and probably the best one he could find. -
I think it might be because those centers don't have consensus on who's best. Desnoyers, O'Brien, McQueen, Frondell, and perhaps Martin all have debates around how to rank them. Martone is pretty much locked into 3-4

I guess I need to dig up the one he posted in Spanish then?

“The Expansion Seattle PWHL team has named John Tortorella as their first head coach.”

But southern cities (especially Texan ones) aren't condensed like northern cities are. They sprawl greatly and many areas that would be suburbs in the north are incorporated within the city limits down where you're at. In cities like Houston without zoning (at least that was zoning less 30 years ago) wouldn't be surprised at all at there being areas with livestock within city limits. So, not sure a lost goat sign IN ENGLISH necessarily confirms you're in the Barrio. Btw, once hit a deer within Buffalo's city limits.

Keka did what constantly moving people in the hockey profession do who are not currently working or working in a satisfactory (lower) position. They pursue and find their next best option. I have a different take on Keka and this new job, whatever his role is. The potential is that it places him in a good advancement situation, either with the Sabres or with another team. From what I have heard about him, he is very experienced in the hockey business from the scouting side to the executive side. So I'm sure that he won't be blindsided with unexpected situations within this troubled franchise. I'm confident that he knows what his role will be and that it won't be a detriment to whatever future aspirations he has within the business. I'm very much encouraged by his hiring, and to a lot lesser extent the Staal hiring, because it seems that the owner is more receptive to outside voices. The Sabre franchise has been plagued with a provincial operation. What these two hirings suggest to me that it is becoming more modern (normal) in how it will operate. At least I hope so. -

Now, can he get us an Olivier for a 4th round pick? -
Highly possible. He definitely won't fall to the Sabres. Chicago is definitely a possibility and would make sense. My point was only that years later he might end up being better than most of these centers everybody is talking about and arguing over. He seems to get less press/attention.
-
Yeah... he's from this area. Does a lot of good stuff.

That’s what I’m hoping for -
We don't need 2 rhd stay at homes, we need one for Power. Dahlin needs a lhd stay at home type.

I still like the potential of McQueen. He could end up being the 3rd best player in this draft (if he can stay healthy)
