Yet Another Example of Fascist Behavior
Hank replied to K-9's topic in The Oval Office (Politics)'s Topics
I laugh because I find the hyperbolic fear mongering funny? I take it as seriously as the 51st state nonsense. -
Ya, that pick hit an iceberg didn't it? I knew he'd played a couple games so I looked it up. 19 games in total with zero points. Great name though and yes, I get the joke. If he was in management here we really could rearrange some of those deck chairs. Jiří Dudáček was a failed gamble on Bowman's part that's for sure. I guess karma got us Mogilny later but we jumped the gun on getting those (at the time) communist players out. Nylander's the pick that set us back the most in the current era I'd say. Bust based on bloodlines. Imagine if we'd taken McAvoy instead? Heck, we could have drafted Tage 🙂
-
I was wondering if he was still around. It’s probably been 15 or so years since I was stuck with the other team’s feed on center ice and I always thought of him as one of the best.
-
We need some good OT threads to get us through the next month.
-
Dog days of hockey? Yes. Which begs the question, why are Biron & the Cackler on WGR during the month of August when absolutely nothing hockey related is going on?
-
Not that I support “road rage”, but if people stopped driving around like a$$holes all the time, maybe there would be less road rage.
-
I’m in. One suggestion, replace IR spots with IR+ which would allow for a player who is listed as “out” can then be moved to IR+, versus currently where only players who have been officially put on IR can be moved to one of the IR spots.

Yet Another Example of Fascist Behavior

I don’t understand @Hank’s laughing response to this post. Given what we’ve seen so far, there’s no telling who this scumbag will target next. Societies who have had their democracies taken over by fascist authoritarians have always had those who pooh-pooh the mere suggestion that something like that could ever happen to them. As the old saying goes, we ignore history at our own peril. And if these aren’t perilous times, then I don’t know what is. Cue the “typical leftist overreaction” crap. Another thing that occurs to me is that these fascists need to foment violence in the streets as it seems to be their plan to respond by declaring martial law and having that crazy orange madman attempt to cancel elections. -
Sabres Hire Brian Maas as New Broadcast Producer

Ray is not good, and on top of that, having your primary analyst at ice level is ridiculous considering the sight lines. -

Sabres Hire Brian Maas as New Broadcast Producer

Little chance of that. His rooting priorities are Vancouver, Boston and Dallas, so I don't think he'd confuse Daryl Reaugh with Rob Ray. -
I like Ray for his humor on ice (in the box) but i prefer Marty for his technical insights to the game. I would like to hear more of Marty in near real time instead of waiting until in between periods. If they used both that would mean less Dan, which is actually good, and maybe Dan could focus on keeping up with the play by play. Sometimes Dan is completely lost and talking about other things. He rarely verbally keeps track of puck possession and where the puck is on the ice. If he improved his play by play it would also greatly improve the radio coverage. He is terrible on the radio and needs the TV visual to cover his sloppy play by play.

Maybe the Hockey Putz got Reaugh and Ray confused? They both answer to the nickname Rayzor afterall.

I would say Detroit's Mickey Redmond was one of the best but as he's gotten older he's lost a step and his knowledge of the game is more and more dated. The other one I like quite a bit is Daryl Reaugh for the Stars. -

If he is the best, I would hate to see the worst! I hear Ray's voice and I hit the mute. -

ICE can claim whatever they want. They did not go through due process therefore ICE is lying. I wouldn't trust ICE if they wished me good morning. I keep wondering when ICE will be sent after Liberals, what will be their crime? They will be labeled un-american and be called "invaders" or some other nonsense. -
The NHL is always driven by short term cash grabs. The league consistently makes decisions that will eventually cost them. Whether it’s fans, credibility or even long term financial detriment, the NHL can’t get out of their own way.
-
Interesting view from the outside, The Hockey Guy on YouTube is of the opinion that Rob Ray is the best color guy in the NHL.

I'm with you on the "liberating" . It's safe to say we have differing views on what constitutes a riot. Let's agree to disagree on that one. -

In the article ICE claims that the mothers made the decision to take their children with them, for whatever that's worth. One mother wrote a note saying so, she says it was written under duress. ICE also claimed the ensured Honduras could meet the medical needs of the cancer patient. It will be interesting to see how the lawsuit plays out. -

Dunleavy is terrible...Bills/Sabres have to have the worst PBP tandem in pro sports. Sad when we used to have one of the best tandems in Ted Darling/RJ and Van Miller for such a long time. Literally went from 3 Hall Of Famers to trash overnight almost.
