I want to see them get another WR1. That said, I think this take is somewhat overblown. Joe Brady bears significant responsibility for receivers not getting open. On a week to week basis, there are coordinators in the league who more regularly get guys open even when they don't have much to work with. In some weeks, Joe Brady is among those coordinators! He needs to have better strategies and better game scripts based on who the opponent is. The Atlanta defensive coaches ate his lunch.

https://www.cnbc.com/2025/10/22/nhl-kalshi-polymarket-prediction-market-deals.html The National Hockey League said Wednesday it’s reached a multi-year licensing agreement with prediction markets Kalshi and Polymarket. More sports leagues may be coming soon. Tarek Mansour, Kalsh’si co-founder and CEO, told CNBC’s “Squawk Box” the deal marked a “seminal moment” for prediction markets and the company. “A league like the NHL partnering with us is a strong sign that prediction markets are here to stay,” Mansour said. As part of the NHL deal, Kalshi and Polymarket will gain access to the league’s proprietary data and rights to use NHL marks and logos. In return, Mansour said, the hockey league will get a suite of customer protections. The NHL said both companies will receive brand exposure during broadcasts. Mansour said the NHL deal could be replicated across other leagues: “Be on the lookout for more announcements soon,” he told CNBC. Representatives for the NBA and NFL did not immediately respond to requests for comment. MLB declined to comment. In August, the NFL expressed its concern about prediction markets, which allow customers to trade on the outcomes of events across entertainment and culture like election results or the length of the ongoing government shutdown. Kalshi and other event trading platforms are regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Yet many states, regulators and tribes are pushing back on prediction markets, arguing they amount to unregulated gambling. Multiple state and federal lawsuits are in progress over the alleged risks.

Agreed. I'll cop to mixed emotions re the Nordiques. I still like to think that QC will get an NHL franchise somehow.

Not keep: Quinn, Greenway, Bryson. I'd move them for very little return. Everyone else, it "depends" -UPL. I'm starting to lean toward getting rid of him. Need to see when he comes back is he closer to 2 years ago form, or last year's form. -Norris. When he comes back from this injury if I can get the majority of the rest of the year from him..Keep. If he has another moderate or worse injury, I'd like to wave a magic wand and get rid of him. -Samuelsson. Same as Norris above. -Tuch. Extend him medium term for $8 per year, love to have him. If its going to be 7-8 years at $10m or more...nope. -Bryam. I'd see what is out there for him. He's not hurting the team, but he's not worth what he's getting paid. I'd want to see what the return for him would be.

We sorta tried that with Donny G, now we have an actual dinosaur as coach... No way that's happening.

The dreaded TNT/HBO non-viewing, radio-only abstract painting description call tonight here. Hope Östlund plays well. Detroit is playing tremendous hockey to start the season. Need Ellis to play above expectation and for Dahlin/TNT/Tuch/Byram/McLeod to all show up at both ends of the ice to get a win.

Redwings are starting three rookies. You will see them tonight

Why are we even the least bit concerned about the Georgiev contract? They’re at 48 total contracts so that’s not getting in the way of anything. If they really need to make space later, that will be an easy fix. He’s not going to be taking significant time away from anyone with the amerks. They bought a $2 dollar powerball ticket and lost. It’s time to move on.

If it were me, it would all be on the table. Thats not suggesting that we need to burn it down. It is suggesting that, for the right deal, noone is safe. I don’t know that I particularly like how the team is set up, skillset-wise and personality-wise. This collection of players doesn’t strike me as having the right overall makeup to expect success. But I don’t know that I could expand further on that opinion if pressed to do so. It’s a feeling, nothing objective. Do I think there are some players that do have some of the personality and skillset I think matters? Yes, but just a few. If I count fingers on a hand , I’d have fingers left over. They would be way down on my list of priority in a retool of the roster, but noone is off limits on a team that struggles to reach 90pts season after season.

A top tier QB in his prime with one of the worst WR corps in the league is criminal. Just watch some of the film breakdowns if you think I am exaggerating. We will look back at this in 10 years and it will look much worse than right now.

I have no problem with the return received from the trades given the performance or attitude of the players traded away at the time. My problem is with why they had to make the trades, most notably not surrounding Eichel and Reinhart with the right complementary players, which led to this slippery slope. Botterill and Adams should never have become GM; they needed an experienced veteran GM.

I watched the NJ/Toronto game last night. Wow is that NJ team fun to watch. Their speed and aggressive attack style is quite effective. Every time Toronto made a mistake odd man rushes came out of nowhere. They even scored on a 4 on 1. I wish the Sabres had a team like that.
