The jolt would be to have Terry fire the entire coaching staff including scouts, also Terry would need to step back and let the real hockey people make moves without his consent (will he ever allow that? Probably not so most likely a moot point). Hire Shanahan also the president of hockey ops, Jarmo to GM and have them colaberate on who should be the next HC going forward. Also find out who the weak links are on this team (all goalies, Power, Byram, do Östlund/Rosen/Levi fit into our plans if not lets move on). At this point in time I'm getting rid of both UPL and Lyon and going with Levi/Ellis and may the best man win from this season on (whether that's as a back up going forawrd or our starting goaltender but starting UPL or Lyon now is pointless imo). Also is Tuch really worth the 8.5-9M a season that I'm hearing he's about to get? If you don't think so you don't have many options other than receiving ddraft picks and prospects this late in the year.

How do the Sabres fare on this 6 game (5 on the WC) road trip?

I expect us to beat Calgary and Edmonton to bring us back to .500 again; unsure why -
Norris is fine but Tage needs to have his own line; Tage plays much looser as a center because he isn't being jammed into the boards while stickhandling.

Agreed the fact that Buffalo still supports the team despite Terry Pegulas relentless focus on ensuring ineptitude and wildly succeeding loke no other franchise in history has for this amount of time ... well mostly... demonstrates the viability of this market if they didnt move coming out of Bankruptcy after Rigas. I am not thinking they move now. Image what a competent owner and relevance does to this fan base... not saying it can't happen but I am not convinced it will

It's an absolute clown show. In another thread I posted that it just doesn't make any sense. The owner buys the team, moved so much that ,while shedding tears, vows to make Buffalo "Hockey Heaven" in front of Sabre HOFers AND now looks like he is purposely trying to run the franchise into the ground. Results? Alienating fans, questions of selling the team or worse ....relocation?

A jolt in the form of a combination of Jarmo as GM and Appert as HC is what we do not need. There is no way that Appert should be HC of the Sabres. Not sure about Jarmo as GM, but the Sabres should engage in a real search at the end of the season for a new GM and HC (and probably a President of of Hockey Operations). These moves are long overdue, and no one currently a part of this organization should be retained unless after a real and independent accounting of what has gone wrong with this organization it is determined otherwise.

The usual avenue for a GM departure is by being fired. It's not very often that a failed GM volunteers to leave his position. Usually, the POHO and/or the owner make the decision for the staffing change. In a sense, the owner is also the acting POHO. The onus is on the owner to take the step that is obvious to most everyone. It shouldn't be a surprise that this particular reclusive owner hasn't done so. -
I think its both they aren't good enough and those who are dont care and they are making those who aren't not care and most importantly the owner and GM are not good enough and don't care

My taughts are that we next year will get the same from Östlund but for less money and with more games played. It is a horrible contract and Norris should be traded. We could extend Östlund, bring in another solid veteran and still have an extra million to next seasons contract extensions (Benson, Tuch) for the same money we pay Norris.

I am the eternal optimist lol I would blame Pegula and Adams for Forton after so many years of his abject ineptitude if he is indeed the brains those two are clearly complicit in his continuation -

I dont, but it still needs to happen. -
Yeah here is the thing even if Dopey does fire Adams he won't do the right thing and hire an NHL exec with creds. He is just gonna promote from within his same incestuous cesspool of abject incompetence in hopes to achieve the same loser result . This will fail players will exodus demand trades we will be devoid of talent begin to draft in the top 3 again and the incompetent people running the show will blow it aaaaaaagain no FA will touch this place and you can look at 4 more years of misery until he has to fire these people again and possibly the wasting of another generational player. He will either learn or not but by the time we get to that place he will be 80 and maybe he will sell so we can begin our long journey to relevance in the mid 2030s. But I do not expect playoffs before 2030 and relevance much after in the most optimistic case

Yup, the avatar still has the palm trees. (And no, Adams, that's not a good thing) It's 90% that is happening until after the season for the front office. Pegula just won't renew contracts is all. They're all pathetically lame ducks. The only question is if Adams remains the voice of the owner. And if he does, we know Appert is next in line. Jarmo still reports to Adams if stays, or he can get an advisor job elsewhere by saying "I made sure they got Doan in the trade, Adams only wanted Kesselring" - that sort of thing, while he tries to get back into a GM chair for a real franchise.

Forton needs to go. (Obviously Adams and others need to go too, but Jerry needs to leave the building.) -

Yup, Greenway was a physical presence last night. I like that line. The 4th line with Greenway, Malenstyn, and Krebs were about the only half way fun line to watch last night. -
Did anyone ever make a sabres crest with crossed palm trees? And a buffalo shaped tax return?

Tage has 1 point in his last 6 games. This team is an alpha star away from being legit - I like all the pieces - I like the change to the DNA of the roster that it’s a bit tougher and grittier. I don’t know what Owen Power does. Aside from steal money. That bust of a first overall pick has cost this team YEARS in the rebuild post Eichel. -

Not me. I give Adams ZERO credit, and I think he handled Granato's firing in a sleazy way . I recall that Adams threw Granato under the bus. Adams touted the need for a "veteran coach and NHL experience", and he promised to do a thorough coaching search. Adams somehow got his players to repeat those same comments in their locker room cleanout season ending interviews. Granato was a popular coach with his players and I expected more defense for him, and some regret, and even some accountability from the players. There was very little of that, the players moved on, Adams gave them their excuse for getting their coach fired. Adams is not the guy to fix this team. -
It's hard to win on the road.

I will argue it. I wouldn't even say Colorado SHOULD beat Buffalo. A video popped up in YT last night. I'm sure it was old. But Forton clearly was leading the draft room discussion.
