That outcome was predictable. One team was skating hard and winning puck battles while the other seemed content with playing for OT. 

As soon as this team starts building any kind of momentum they just piss it all away. These are the kinds of losses that you look back at as the reason why we can't get to the playoffs.

Another GM, a real GM would.  But one beholden to “their” contracts will not. Just think what it would be like to have Rasmus Andersson on this squad at $4.5 instead of Power.  A more mature player at half the salary.

People are badly underplaying the very favorable schedule that is about to get much tougher. They really needed to take advantage of it and simply failed to do so.

Bisonette said it clearly, the Sabres have a lot of bad habits that they repeat.

Loser point is still better than no points. Winnable game but kind of an even game too. Difference might have been Sabres have Owen Power. 

The good takeaway though is they have some guys on the roster now that weren't here last year that go to the paint. They go hard net front. One can only hope this becomes more normal for them and some of the passengers from past seasons start to get the message and join in. If not, replace them. 

Starting to look more like a real hockey team, but we've been fooled before.

Hold your horses here. The problem with this team for the last 15 years is failing to earn a single point in way to many games. The Sabres did this twice in 2 nights.

I hate a loss as much as the next guy but the Sabres are trending upward and will easily make the playoffs

I am betting one US dollar OR 10 dimes.

The Sabres always look slow and sloppy. One thing that drew me to this team 20 years ago was how insanely fast and precise their passing was

4-1-2 in 7 games is good. Repeat that over the next 7 and they will have 20 points in 17 games; that is a pace for 96.5 points. 

But, on the loser point thing, I think the past criticism is that they too often did not find a way to squeeze a point out of a game where it looked like they would get none. The last two games are more of the opposite: failing to get a 2nd point  by giving up the lead in the last 6 minutes of the third.
