Sabres among the teams to check in on Chinakhov

The Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings, Buffalo Sabres, and Florida Panthers are among the teams that have checked in with the Columbus Blue Jackets about forward Yegor Chinakhov, reports TSN's Pierre LeBrun.

What’s the allure?  Seems like he’s a bottom of the roster guy without the requisite physical game.

Who has never played close to an entire season with a list of injuries as the cause.

He is a RFA at the end of the season, which would be enticing to Adams. He's not a scorer, he's not a PKer.

He had one hot month (Dec 2023) with 7 goals in 14 games (in a season with 16 goals). That was it.

Pass.

There's the Jarmo connection an at 24 this kid has a chance to only get better. Yet to me his middle forward that best suited for 3rd line but looking for 2nd line minutes. Maybe with the Zucker injury we might add him but Columbus not looking for picks and not sure we have players to give.

Why? He's played 4 years in the NHL already. Looks like a 30pt who can't stay healthy.

1)If he can stay healthy his numbers should get better 2)He's 24 which is still young in NHL years 3)IF he does get more playing time with 2nd line players realistically his stats could go up because has better talent around him. 4)False hope for all of the above.
