If Kevin wanted to trade away some of our top offensive talent, he had to secure a truly dominant goalie and probably another dominant defenseman in order to make it make any sense whatsoever. 

yes Lyon who’s playing great so far this season for like 95% of the minutes he’s played, but I think we all know it’s probably not gonna hold up especially with no support in front of him offensively. 

I don’t think it’s an overreaction to say that this is probably gonna be the typical dynamic this season. We just don’t have offensive talent anymore that can create opportunity consistently

We were top three in scoring like three years ago. That was effectively ruined in favor of bolstering the defense. A competent GM would’ve just improved the defense without neutering the offense in the process.
