If Tuch signs here all it means is he never truly wants to win a cup. Sabres will pay him well. He could win elsewhere. I’m guessing he’s going to take the pay day here. I guess he can always force his way out down the road and end up on a contender. That does seem to work well for guys.

If the Sabres want to sign Tuch, they will need to pay an incompetence tax, which is 8 years, 10+ million aav.

Yeah I’m pretty sure that’s exactly the contract he’s gonna get too.

Can we please acknowledge that adams is literally trying to lose... there can be no other explanation for his abject incompetence i mean you have to try to be thus bad decade after decade

On the brighter side of things, my son’s varsity soccer improved their record to 12 and one which allowed me to totally skip the hockey game.

it’s gonna be hilarious when this team starts the season on a 10 game losing streak, you can just feel it

That will probably earn KA an extension

Why did they bring back the same assistants

Winning is just not the focus in Sabreland.

For a home opener and being harder to play against, I don't recall any time where the Sabres did something hard to play against to get the crowd going. Was there even a body check that rattled the boards and got the crowd to ooooh?

this might be the worst Sabres team in recent memory

I gotta ask, did y'all watch the game or just check the boxscore?

We played well and lost. Need more traffic in front and more movement on the pp. Lots of good though, attacks were good and fought for pucks. We won a lot of battles and had good looks. Defensively Dahlin we a force and Byram had some moments. Timmins scares me and Bryson I don't want to talk about.

Sabres worked hard tonight and lost anyways, but they weren't outclassed. This isn't football, we're not winning 82 games in a row.

Well that sucked, per usual NHL sets Buffalo up to lose in Game 1 by putting us against a team that already played a game and with a Top 3 goalie.

We go 0-4 on PP and every good chance was stopped by the jackass in their net.

Feels like no matter the players, the coaches, the front office and even the effort doesn’t make a difference.

Stop with the excuses.  No one is the league is plotting against the Sabres. They weren’t ready in the first period, they were the home team, that is on them to come out no matter who they are playing.

The players, the coaches, the FO, and the effort - all of it has not been good enough for a very long time.  Fourteen years of losing is not a NHL conspiracy.  It starts at the top of this organization.

Dahlin knocked a guy down.  He played well.  Doan looked good.  Lyon played well for 2 and a half periods.  Thompson was all right.  Zucker had some old man energy.

Other than that, nothing but passengers.

Bad first period but then they played good hockey until the final 5.

Lots of work to do with this group.  Im worried about top 6 firepower.
