I refuse to believe it's true. I know it probably is....but I have sanity to maintain

Shoulda paired Byram with 9 for a top 6 when has the chance instead we have a ton of RHD when just needed one.

Get the F out.  He’s doing anything he can to save his job and he’s destroying the franchises future to do it.

I don't think I've said it here but, if adams doesn't spend near the cap and let's Byram go and just has millions in unused money, he's a giant fraud and a con. Spend to make this team more competitive and if convincing players to come here is too hard for you, quit because you're incapable of doing your job.

With Adams around, probably anything over 6 million.

He's not a fraud. He's doing his master's bidding. Until Pegula says EEE is over, he's happy to shave the cap and keep the savings. Probably he justifies it because of fewer STHs and lower attendance.

He has all the resources he needs.

He doesn't have to save his job; he's not going anywhere.

Here are some other updates that Chad has from his latest article

Quote

1. The smoke with Bryan Rust and the Pittsburgh Penguins was real. The Sabres were considering trading the ninth overall pick straight up for the veteran winger. There were also other options being discussed that would involve a pick swap at the draft. The Sabres were happy with Radim Mrtka being available at nine, and the two sides couldn’t find common ground.

Rust’s no-trade clause expires tomorrow. There’s a possibility we still see something happen here.

2. I’d keep an eye on Pius Suter tomorrow. I was told that they have an interest in the player, but with how shallow the forward market is now, they may not be able to get into the conversation.

3. I wouldn’t rule out the long-shot chances of the Sabres attempting to sign Nikolaj Ehlers, but I feel he’s destined for the Carolina Hurricanes.

4. I have no information tying the Sabres to Dmitry Orlov, but he wouldn’t be a bad target to fill out the left side if the Sabres can move Byram for a forward.

5. It would be cheap and is a risk. However, with the hole at forward, is Anthony Mantha worth a one-year flyer on?

6. Alex Tuch remains one of the top priorities for the Sabres this offseason. My info is that there’s optimism that a deal can be reached this summer.

7. The Sabres are on track to be looking at anywhere from $5 to 10 million in cap space, depending on what they do with Bo Byram if there is not significant money added to this roster. That would be an unacceptable outcome and would be an undeniable sign of an internal cap.

8. If the Sabres make a deal with the Blues for Byram, I don’t think Jordan Kyrou would be part of it. His no-trade clause kicks in tomorrow. Zack Bolduc, however, could be.

9. The Sabres and Ryan McLeod have exchanged contract proposals. There is no agreement at this point, but they continue to work on it.

I wouldn’t be surprised if something gets finalized by the end of the Fourth of July weekend. To be clear, that’s more of a gut feel with some minor insight baked in.

10. I think the Sabres roster is mostly set with one or two more minor additions to come before the focus shifts to re-signing their restricted free agents.

Part of me would want to see the 9thOA for Rust deal just to watch All Hell Break Loose😂😂This tells me Byram for Rust is absolutely something Adams would do. 😳🤮😂

This is unacceptable

If #10 is true, just utterly unforgivable. And it probably is true.

It also contradicts the rest of the list, but I guess you don’t get clicks by opening with that one.

Rust’s NMC ends today, wondering if we see a Byram for Rust trade? Not my favorite idea:  creates a hole on D and adds to the strong RW pool while not adding to C or LW where we need a talent infusion

Don't worry, Adams has a plan...

So are we upset now because he passed on a deal that we wouldn't want to see him make?

Passing on a deal that no other sober GM would have even considered is thought to be good decision-making with this franchise by some. It’s apparent that the quality standard has been lowered.

What I will be watching to see is what the return on Bryan will be if traded.

Hopefully Jarmo did.

Kevyn literally adds guys to the roster if he thinks they're a good person

To add to this Rust plays RW which we don’t need as we have Tage and Tuch there. Should only be looking at centers or LWers. Granlund and suter are perfect fits: solid Character guys who put up nice point totals - these should be the targets

But he only likes his guys. Adams only adds guys he decides he likes or Terry likes. He can't deviate from his plan.

The actions of this organization demonstrate there is no comprehensive plan.

I am expecting Byram to be here starting next season. Trades are hard you know. Some D level FA signing to pacify. Another crappy year, TPegs give his buddy an extension and i buy my first Avs jersey!

You write like Byram being here is a bad thing. I think it’s fine as he plays well with Dahlin. I’m more than okay with keeping Byram and signing Lyon. All that would be left to do is sign a LW like Granlund or suter

You are assuming. It is not a bad thing. But, think of it this way. Could a defensive tandem of Dahlin and Byram handle a cup final against Florida? Let me help you here..... NOT A CHANCE!! A team's goal is not to just make a playoffs, it is to win the cup. I have zero problem with him staying but you are also losing your biggest chip to bring in a top 6 forward (Not that i think KA is going to do that anyways). If he stays i am good with that. Our defense is definitely better with him i believe. The question is....... is making the goaltending and defense better gets this team to the playoffs? I have no faith in KA making the offensive and PP side better.

So is the idea that teams add players they don’t like? It’s an odd statement to be making.

Who do you think you can get for Byram in trade? I'm just curious because everyone talks about getting that magical top 6 player for him. Maybe, just maybe, no one at that level has been offered yet.

No, you're missing my point. Adams adds guys he likes, he likes how they chitchat with him. Not he likes how they play hockey, he just likes

It's possible that Adams is holding on tighter because Byram didn't exactly say I want out.  Which seems like his MO to hold out for a bigger deal.
