“Well, I’m under contract” is the least confidence inducing thing one might say in this situation, tbh

It’s also a bit ambiguous. When it says “this” season is he referring to 24-25? Is he under contract right now and it’s expiring, or for next year and then it expires, or longer?

Edit: have received confirmation he’s under contract through 25-26

If he is not extended then KA must think he is a threat to him.

My best guess is that Adams, who himself has one year left based on most reporting, has no authority to extend Karmanos. I would bet that the vast majority of the higher profile contract employees in the front office and coaching staff, are heading into their last season under contract. Front offices and coaching staffs, don’t get more lame-duck than this.

If you hit a duck in the head with a drive at 50yrds, that duck would be less lame than this front office.

Really excited for the Seth Appert head coach in 2026. Not.

Was there ever any substantiated info about Karmanos?  I feel like this has all been internet talking head conjecture.

The guy who doesn't live locally wasn't present for exit interviews.  Gee, I wonder where he was.

Yeah - looking back on it - this seems like a fart in a bottle.

Now - that bottled fart is skittering and clinking around the titling deck of the Titanic as it lurches to its final resting place.

But it's a fart in a bottle all the same.

I dunno. I put stock in what Brawndo said about the wrong people carrying the day behind the scenes. “I’m here, aren’t I?” from Karmanos doesn’t do much to quell that

Where's his direct quote? You've put a stank on what he "said" a couple times (using different words).

It's just seeming more like everyone's on a one-year deal right now. If the team doesn't perform, everyone will be gone.

Where's he say that?

Yes I am sure he is unaware of job duty changes within the organization because Pegula is running it back... what he didnt say is that he was unaware of outside opportunities that might interest him....  I think if he were to leave it would be that way... not by firing.

If I Could Put Farts in A Bottle to the tune of If I Could Put Time in a Bottle was a thing back in the day, but there's scant evidence of it online, at least at first glance.

There does seem to be copious evidence of people using the USPS to mail farts in jars. There's a story about how some lovely young gal made a million dollars!

God save us all when the inevitable shipping warehouse explosion happens.

Yeah Thorny pic or it didn't happen!

Really, guys, you don't know your fellow poster by now?

Admittedly, I mostly do a poor job of keeping track of regular posters' various message board peccadilloes.

Also, I think I mostly wanted to use the word "peccadilloes" there. I'm not sure it's an apt use.

One of the saddest realizations I’ve had here is how much more familiar I appear to be about the past postings of others

Well thank God. Honestly, they should move out Adams and make Karmanos GM if they aren't going to do a real search.

Agree 100%.   It is a logical progression for Karmanos and he is likely the better GM anyway.  He cannot be worse than 0 for 5.

His work history and resume suggests he could be an improvement and his work in Rochester is not hurting his stature as a future NHL GM.

Is he willing to move to Buffalo and do the job?

As of right now the members of the front office you really do not want making decisions have taken the lead on a potential Byram trade

Above. Is there stank on my interpretation? You seem to remember me invoking stank more than you do the postings of a much better poster than me in Brawndo

He doesn’t even post that much.

It’s easy to remember what he says it’s always very salient
