  1. I think the real teat is how he manages the salary cap with guys like Eichel and Reinhart. Can he make the right moves to take this team from playoff regylar to Cup contender year after year. That said I like the bold moves, he's aggressive but will he know when to back off and just build on existing assets?
  2. Marincin settles with TOR for 2 yrs at 1.25. I would expect the arbiters decision on Tyson Barrie to be announced sometime tomorrow.
  3. Anybody can take one the worst teams in NHL history and make them noticeably better. The hard part is going from playoff team to Cup contender. We're not even a playoff team yet.
  4. Within 48hrs of hearing
  5. Eichel/Vesey video from last night's Foxboro league...
  6. Looks like ARI and Stone settled on a 1 year $4mil deal, so they avoid arbitration. Only 2 arbitration hearings still on schedule... Tyson Barrie 7/29 and Martin Marincin 8/02.
  7. One of the most underrated players in the history of the franchise, and NHL for that matter.
  8. Yes, this has been discussed ad nauseam.
  9. 24hrs to go before Barrie's arbitration hearing. tick-tock If it gets there, I'll say he gets awarded $5.1-5-5 mil and COL chooses a 2 year deal. The hope is they award him 6 or 6+ which COL might balk at.
  10. pffffffffft! Like he should have to leave the comfort of his parents basement to talk to NHL GMs. What kind of peasant do you think he is? I mean, has a Harvard degree, it's not like he actually needs to go out and look for work. I picture him like the pony tail guy at the bar in Good Will Hunting.... https://youtu.be/QnZ0Y4rvz6E?t=57s
  11. Yes we know that, and so does he. But maybe some team promises him a spot next to Toews, or Matthews... or power play time, or terms of a future contract, or a locker next to P Kane, or P Bergeron. Or free round-trip flights for family members,e tc..
  12. 50! The more I think about this, the more I believe he doesn't really know where he wants to play yet. His heart probably says Boston, but his mind says to stay clear of the hometown team starting a downward spiral. He's probably hoping some team knocks his socks off to make the decision easier.
  13. http://www.todaysslapshot.com/from-the-ice/avalanche-tyson-barrie-one-million-apart-arbitration/ All arbitrated contracts are 1 or 2 year contracts. His hearing is Friday. That said he'd probably accept a longer term deal at 5.5, but if COL is only offering a bridge at 4, then wow, that's not even close. I can see GMTM swooping in and making an attempt to take him off their hands. Even if that doesn't happen and COL accepts the one-year arbitrated deal, then I don't see him sticking around COL much longer.
  14. “It’s going to be up to the teams to sell him. … Yes, [we have criteria], but we’re interested in what the teams say rather than telling the teams what they have to say.” This is like a reverse draft, the tail wagging the dog, where the players walk up the podium and announce what team they choose to play for. I wonder if they'll reserve a time slot on NHL network to make the announcement? I see him standing alone on stage wearing a black robe which is slowly lifted off his shoulders to reveal the jersey of the team of his choosing. Or maybe he shoots a puck at a target and a banner drops down amongst an eruption of confetti, while a live band breaks into "It's my Life" by Bon Jovi. Meanwhile, Pegula and Murray are on their way to DC to try and lure Ovechkin away from the Caps..... http://flightaware.com/live/flight/XSR630/history/20160727/2010Z/KBUF/KHEF
  15. Barrie is still out there. Heard he's asking for 6 mil, COL offering 4 mil.
  16. Where ever he ends up, he's going to have a huge target on his back, both in training camp and during the season. He better be good, very very good, or he's going to look even more like a giant douche than he does now.
  17. Tyson Barrie on his way to Buffalo? http://flightaware.com/live/flight/XSR961/history/20160725/1555Z/KGJT/KBUF
  18. Well, according to the manager in charge that night, no. However, the person who signed the trespassing complaint is "associated with the bar", so it could be a bouncer or bartender who saw something they didn't like, or maybe Kane insulted them (or grabbed their girlfriend's boobs) and this is their way of getting back at him.
  19. I think Edmonton has leadership issues to sort out and are still too small and fragile up front. Lucic and Larsson help, but still too many mismatched pieces there. BUF improved by 25 points last season, EDM only 8. I see a 10-15 point improvement for both teams putting BUF in the 90-95 range, and EDM around 80-85 points.
  20. http://sabres.buffalonews.com/2016/07/22/sources-say-evander-kane-was-acting-as-celebrity-bartender-when-trouble-erupted-last-month/ Apparently he was "guest" bartending at Bottom's Up the night of the alleged incident... an accuser states that at one point he reach over the bar and grabbed a handful of titties, which was frowned upon. The attorney for the bar says.... “We understand that someone associated with the bar has signed a complaint stating that he was trespassing. But the general manager, who was the person in charge that night, says he was not trespassing and was not ejected.” I'd love to see video of this because there's so many conflicting reports, who knows what really happened.
  21. 0 appearances for McDavid... Thanks Bettman!
  22. ...well, let's let's say each sister has an 8.3% chance of being hot, oh nevermind.
