  1. Instead of JRs he would go back to Sweden after 9 games, and then his team in Sweden would decide whether or not to loan him to the OHL (likely after their season is over). His ELC would kick in only if he stays in BUF after 9 games or they send him to Roch.
  2. I'd like to see Kasdorf beat out Nilsson to backup Lehner. Let Ullmark play 60 games in Roch.
  3. I realize this has nothing to do with Matthew's being greedy, but I still find it hilarious.
  4. They could use him in EDM, maybe DAL and WSH, but I think he stays here thn ends up in LVK.
  5. Sounds like he shoulda choose arbitration?
  6. I think so, yeah, maybe, probably not?
  7. I'm sure GMTM's vision of long term deal doesn't line up with Risto's vision of long term deal. GMTM also said they'd look at a bridge if they reached a stalemate on a long term contract, so there's that. I have a feeling that's where they'll end up. WIthout arbitration rights, Risto really has no choice but sign, unless somebody swoops in and offers him a large deal. If they do, I don't expect GMTM to match it, maybe he works out a sign and trade, or something of that nature, could be interesting.
  8. Like I said before, I expect this to drag on. GMTM didn't draft Rasmus, it's not clear if he thinks of him as a future 1A. I think GMTM wants a bridge, and Rasmus wants term. A 3 year bridge wouldn't get him to UFA status, but he would have arbitration rights as an RFA. If he can prove his 1A status on a competitive team after 3 years, then great, but he hasn't proved it yet like Ekblad and others who signed long term deals.
  9. I've always said Matthews will play well his first few seasons. Once his ELC is up and he gets paid there will be a steep decline. As far as Vesey is concerned, I don't care where he signs as long as it isn't Buffalo.
  10. He also agreed to sign with NSH. fixed
  11. This should come as no surprise. Au$tin Matthew$
  12. will he get booed in Buf? Nsh?
  13. I don't believe a word that comes out of this kids mouth. He's going to Boston, which contradicts his claims of studying rosters and whatnot. Don't be fooled.
  14. I think Montreal is still good and will make the playoffs. Weber is no spring chicken but he's got some tread left, with a healthy Price and Galchenyuk, they'll be in the mix.
  15. I think we're getting ahead of ourselves a bit. These kids look good on paper, but until some of them start to put up some numbers in the pros, they're merely prospects.
  16. He knows damn well who he wants to play for. He just needs the attention to feed his insatiable ego. He's a Jimmy first kinda guy, and always will be.
  17. Well, Vesey scored 24 goals his senior season. Guess how many goals Drew Stafford scored his junior season (his last season in NCAA)? 24. Cased closed. Stafford = Vesey, Vesey = Stafford.
  18. Think a softer version of Drew Stafford.

  20. It's an important year for Rochester. They need to be better, much better. Most of the kids GMTM drafted are still playing juniors or NCAA, but some are old enough now to play pro, so it will be interesting to see how guys like Cornel, Karabacek, Olofsson transition to north american pro hockey.
  21. I think 95 points and playoffs is a bit of a stretch for this team yet. They're getting better, but teams will start to take them more seriously, meaning they won't start their backup tendies, etc... That will have a negative impact. I could see them floating around within shooting distance of 8th, but likely landing somewhere around 9-11th with a 5-10 point improvement, somewhere around 85-90 points.
  22. What sickens me is the idea that Vesey is putting off his decision just to get more passes from Eichel in summer beer league.
  23. I've had the sex talk with both of them when they were ready and asking questions about it, both were around 8-9 iirc. Anyway, yeah they understand about respecting women, respect all people in general. At the time of the P Kane stuff, they didn't understand the concept of rape, like why would somebody do that to someone else? Instead of getting into the details and legalities of what constitutes rape, I left it as.... a girl was accusing P Kane of forcing himself on her when she didn't want to have sex. My kids look up to P Kane as a hockey player (not a role model), they're fascinated by what he does on the ice, so you don't really want to ruin that for them, but life sucks sometimes so you deal with it.
  24. MacKinnon plays a style similar to E. Kane where he tries to do too much on his own. It worked well his first season, but teams figured him out and now he'll have to adjust and utilize his teammates better than he does currently. Can he make that adjustment?
