No team will take on his $5m/yr salary. BUF is stuck with that contract.. the only hope is he retires after this season, but I wouldn't bet on it.... Also, I find it interesting that Cody Hodgson's cap hit will go up to $800k/yr from 2019-2023. Seems like a long time.

Davidsson is a lock to make team SWE. As a 3rd rnd pick, Pu is already exceeding expectations. Team Canada's selection process is run amok with cronyism, I wouldn't put too much weight into his being left off the invite list. He averaged 1.36 ppg last season, this year he's at 1.31 ppg. No reason for alarm.... he'll be a nice fit in Rochester for years to come.. He's one of those guys that could blossom in the AHL after a few years, it's good to have prospects like him in the system.

That really stinks for Pu. Hopefully he can wipe the slate clean and avoid flushing this season down the toilet.

Yeah, that was me. This team won't get to the next level with guys like Girgensons and Larsson on the roster. They don't do anything particularly well, they can't score, or create offense and they can't defend well. They lack hockey IQ and quickness. Ted Nolan's ceiling is a low hockey IQ hard working straight forward north south team.... it will only get you so far. Teams running more advanced systems will be able to shut them down. Housley's ceiling is... is..... uh... well... I.. um... yeah.

His cap hit is $5m this year and next. His actual take home pay in the AHL this year is $5m, but next year it's only $3m, so maybe he plays out the year then hangs it up.

It's not the system. The players simply aren't playing hard for Housley. Why? Only they know the answer.

At least under Bylsma you had a #1 ranked PP unit, and Eichel humming along at nearly a point per game, 16th in the league, all on a bum ankle. Through 26 games this season he has 1 point on the power play... that's a coaching issue.

Will Butcher 3 assists in his first game, named first star. . The real kick in the ass though is for the Avs. Not only did they lose the first overall pick (Hischier) to the Devil's, he goes and scores the first goal against them today.

They're overthinking this. Just give Eichel the "C" and be done with it. It's not as big a deal as they're making it out to be. He'll grow into it.
