I think it has more to do with validation as a place players want to play vs stocking the cupboards with prospects. Okposo is really the only guy I can remember, in recent memory anyway, who choose Buffalo over other cities. As a fan you want players to want to come play in Buffalo. If he chooses NJD, folks will be upset because they'll take it as a slight on the city, not necessarily because BUF didn't land a depth prospect.

Nice. I've always liked his game. IMO he got a bad rap because expectations were simply to high for him. He was not a goal scorer in college, but he showed flashes of that ability so everybody just kinda expected him to continue to improve in that department when in reality his skill set is more suited for a 3rd line winger who can play 2 ways and chip in offensively.

I've not yet heard of any shenanigans between Sakic and Butcher other than the fact Butcher informed them he wasn't going to sign... unlike Vesey who dragged them along and then got into a "he said, she said" ordeal like a 9 year old.

In my experience summer leagues have always been popular. During the summers I played in a pro league at Holiday Twin Rinks with other college kids like Kevyn Adams and Tony Tuzzolino to name a few and some Sabres would show up now and then (Andreychuk, Mogilny, etc). It's just that today with social media we have more visibility into what these guys do during the offseason.

Each week pick one team you believe will win. If your team wins you stay in the game for another week. If your team loses you receive one strike. Two strikes (two incorrect picks) and you're out. Last person to remain is the winner. Note: you cannot pick the same team more than once throughout the season. eg, if you pick PIT to win the first week, then you can't pick PIT for the rest of the season. You only need to pick the winner, no point spreads. Your pick for the week must be submitted by 1p ET each Sunday (if you want to pick the thur game, then get your pick in before kickoff). If you fail to pick a team for the week before the Sun 1pm ET deadline, then that counts as a strike. Since we're doing two strikes, if folks are still alive heading into week 13 you'll need to submit two picks (each incorrect pick is still counted as one strike).

My recommendations would be to leave the black widows. We have a ton of them around our house (mostly brown widows), they're harmless.... and keep the cricket population in check. I wouldn't waste money on an exterminator, if you're really concerned about it, just pickup some Home Defense spray and treat the outside perimeter of your house.... nbd. Save a couple hundred bucks.

It's a cycle. The league moves to smaller/faster..... tips just a bit too far in that direction such that a big physical team has some success and the league trends back the other way... wash, rinse, repeat.

Yeah, it would make perfect sense, which is why I'm not feeling very optimistic as he would've picked BUF already if the above were true. I still say NJD because it's definitely his best chance to play in the show this season... their depth chart on D is horrendous.

I can guarantee I'm gonna be a cellar dweller in the upper first class privileged elitist league :P , can I do both? Also, is anybody doing a survivor league? I've organized a $$ survivor league the last bunch of years, I can set something up on Yahoo! if there's any interest... LMK.
