  1. Those with paralysis are a different story obviously, but I think most are amputees and have prosthetic legs.
  2. I think it's important that USA Hockey is showing faith in HarborCenter. If HarborCenter realizes its potential I think it's just a matter of time before USA Hockey does relocate to Bflo.
  3. This could be dangerous... 1. I regularly lie to people about their tatoos. I don't think they're awesome, cool, or sweet. In fact, I think 99.9% of them are stupid. 2. If the Bills moved to TO, I'd still root for them but it would with an emotional detachment. If they go to any other city, I'd stop watching the NFL not as a protest, but because I just don't give an isht about the league. 3. Not a day goes by that I don't regret telling my ex I didn't want to be married to her anymore. 4. I get drunk more frequently now - as a 45 year old man - than I have in 20+ years. Might be related to number 4. 5. My girlfriend has put on a lot of weight over the past year. It's not attractive and it can't be good for her health but I have absolutely no idea how to talk to her about it without sounding like a shallow and rude arsehole. 6. Friends tell me I slide back into my Canadian accent when I drink. I'm 100% American. If anybody has suggestions on #5, I'll listen...
  4. Via twitter: Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie 7m NYI announce they are keeping their first-round pick in this year's draft and sending their 2015 1st-rounder to BUF: http://nyisl.es/x9IL5
  5. ICYMI: Former Buffalo Sabres owner Golisano to bid on Bills, source confirms http://blogs.canoe.c...ource-confirms/
  6. Can we all agree that, throughout his entire career, Miller has been a good to very good goaltender who can sometimes play lights out and, on occasion, gives up soft goals at what seem like the worst possible time? For what it's worth, the conversation around Bflo's defense v the Blue's defense has merit. From what I saw watching the Blues after the trade, Bflo's d-zone posture is more aggressive with more attacking the puck and trying to eliminate passing lanes and allowing Miller to face the shooter. As said upthread, the Blues emphasized shot blocking which, in a sense, required Miller to lean toward the open player. After years of coming out and challenging shooters, he had to stay back so he'd have a better chance of moving laterally to get square after the pass. Regardless of whether it's Call of Duty or the NHL, if you are most comfortable in being aggressive in your style of play, dialing it back feels like you're not as engaged and are much more reactionary than you'd like to be. And that, in my humblest of opinions, is why he struggled down the stretch.
  7. PO2 HopefulFuture. Has a nice ring to it!
  8. I'm not arguing with what you're saying, but I think the fans leaping off the Miller bandwagon after those first 8 games played a part, as did the conditional pick they'd have to give up.
  9. Wow man, you are way overthinking it... I thought it was awesome the team he blew off won the Cup not long after being blown off. I thought it was even more awesome that Lindros left the game without ever winning it, and I really like that the Flyers haven't won it since. And I also thought that pretty much every hockey fan who is not a Flyers fan felt the same way. Ya' know, all schaudenfreudey and stuff.
  10. DeLuca, Ghost, did either of you guys think it was awesome when, after being spurned by Lindros, the Nords cashed in all the assets they required from Philly and promptly won the Cup while Lindros never did?
  11. I wonder if the conditional pick they owed the Sabres was a factor into determining whether they would re-sign him. Either way, it will be interesting to see where he ends up and I wish him well going forward. Unless he's in our division, because http://forums.sabrespace.com/topic/22555-sabres-fan-schadenfreude/
  12. A guy like Lucic is one of those complimentary players GMTM talks about. A concern of mine would be whether Lucic can play the same style of game and still get away with it elsewhere. He only got one game for cross-checking Lapierre in the back of the head, the two games he got for smoking Rinaldo, and avoided countless other suspensions for his serial spearing (much less crap like running over Miller) is because he is in Boston. I don't know if it's because Colie Campbell's kid is there or if it's because Jacobs is the director of the Board of Governors, but that club, Thornton aside, sure seems to get a lot of favorable non-calls. I'm generally not one for tin foil hat conspiracies, but I do believe that if Lucic was a Sabre, he'd spend more games on suspension than dressed.
  13. I used to love me some schadenfreude when I was younger, but these days I try to suppress it and instead try to send out positive vibes... That said, any time the Bruins or Flyers lose, I do feel a little better about the world and my place in it.
  14. Agreed. Agree with that, too. But it doesn't make it right.
  15. Bylsma? Oh hell no. With the exception of his first year when he was still using Therrien's system, Bylsma as done nothing but lose control of his players and watch the team underachieve. No no no no no no way I'd want him anywhere near the Sabres - now or in the future.
  16. Yep, he definitely seemed to turn a corner in his game. Still physical, cut down on the cheap shots, and remained above the line in terms of handshake-gate with the attitude of a winner. I'm impressed.
  17. Brad May ‏@maydayhockey 1h A Source in a Boston tells me that Zdemo Chara played the last few games with a compound fracture in his hand/finger. #factcheckneeded Might explain some things...
  18. Yep. May have been mentioned in the ink's link (on the phone and didn't open it), but for those of us with deviated septums - which a lot of hockey players have - it really opens the sinuses up and makes breathing a lot easier which obviously improves stamina.
  19. Good to get the early goal - go Habs!
  20. I know a lot of Pen fans want Bylsma gone which is precisely the reason I hope he stays.
  21. Mike Williams is experienced and Watkins, Wood, and Goodwin are all more physically gifted than Stevie. I don't hate SJ - in fact I felt kind of bad for him being miscast in the #1 WR role when he just didn't have the tools - but it was time to turn the page and move on with the younger guys.
  22. Haha! I sure did, good catch! I meant "apathy." And I don't see them as having been apathetic, just various degrees of incompetent.
