  1. Agree that Cozens has had games enough to show he can be center, and failed. Unfortunately those centers won't take us to playoffs and my point was that we have to sacrifice one or two rosterplayers and some draft picks to get what we really need. I have been thinking about this for awhile. Benson is not for trade imo, but it seems like coaches are having a hard time finding him a center. I honestly can't figure out what type of center he would benefit from playing with, but I think that is what we should target, and to me both Quinn and Cozens are worth trading to get that. But I rather ofcourse keep one of them. But I expect nothing with Coconut Kev as GM.
  2. I agree. But who play 2C? I think McLoad is a good 3C, and the line with him, Zucker and Greenway was ok. Kulich should be sent back to Rochester to win games, since we can, and this loosing can't be improving him much. Krebs is not a 2C. The only alternative is a trade to fill that spot IMO. Then the next questions is who do we sacrifice to get what we need? Quinn? If we play Cozens on wing, Quinn is the odd man out. I don't like that. And I am having a hard time thinking we ge a quality 2C with only draftpicks and/or prospects we are willing to deal with, they want a decent player in return.
  3. Nothing like 70s Springsteen 👍
  4. Sounds more like Sabres. Lol
  5. For some strange reason I had a line from the Springsteen song Rosalita in my head this morning. "Someday we'll look back on this and it will all seem funny." https://youtu.be/CYHGh6lmSbo?si=MaCCCVv-AF86TiLH Even the Boss trying to cheer me up.
  6. This sure goes way back in time, but I do not think our drafting is the biggest reason. If things would be like in other NHL franchises this team would now be led by Eichel and Reinhard and young players could be developed properly. The whole Eichel situation should have been solved in a better way. ROR should not have lost his love for hockey. Instead, Pegula and his GMs has not been professional enough to turn things around and get the players the team really need to be competitive. They keep putting young players on the team and force them to take leadership roles that they aren't ready for. And the team ends up in a eight game loosing streak.
  7. They should send Kulich too.
  8. It is definitely not the way anyone wanted it to end for Ruff, and it is not over yet, but it looks bad.
  9. Nowhere, just a fact that a coach behind the bench on a team that has only become worse since he took over does not survive. And my personal thaughts that if Ruff goes then Coconut Kev will have to move aside also.
  10. Starting to sound like there will be both a change of GM and coach coming.
  11. If we get it we should trade it with Cozens for a second line center.
  12. I think you are absolutely right, this is what has happened.
  13. With 7.26 milj in capspace there has to be TP money left to bring some palm trees to western New York. Or overpay so they can afford to buy their own place in the caribbean sun.
  14. Coconut Kev did not fix the two most important problems during the summer. He relied on Samuelsson getting back to where he was two years ago, and did not get a RHD stay at home guy to play with Power or Dahlin. And he relied on Cozens and Quinn to play at the level we all know they can be, so no top six scorer or center. Buy doing that he played roulette with this season and that is something that should get him fired immediately. When the team has missed playoff for 13 years, you have to do all you can to prevent that from happening again. If they care for us fans.
  15. I have had big hopes for Cozens, but I am more and more thinking he needs to be traded. But a big questions is where and what do we get back?
  16. They did not choose between Joker and Risto, it was between Joker and Hakanpää, who has been injured since March and only played two games this season, before he was back on IR. That is a much harder lesson to Joker than Lindy making him a healthy scratch. Let's see how he responds, but he probably is on top of the list of players that will be traded as soon as someone takes him.
  17. Tokarski signed by Canes
  18. And Philly and Tampa won. Still can hope for Boston to loose.
  19. Interesting move by Ruff to spread the fire power on all four lines against a Wild with several injuries and new guys in the line-up.
  20. San José plays entertaining, so as long Sabres do not join that entertainment they might go home with all six points. Sharks have a good PP and they probably play Blackwood who has been excellent so far this season. Really hope we not see Celebrini and their other kids smiling and joking as they did when they won Red Wings.
  21. Tuch will be in the 4 nations tournament the way he plays! He is a beast right now!
  22. Always great to wake up in the morning to a Sabres win! Highlights and some coffee next.
  23. Fans on this board has been wishing for a more balanced defense for a while now. Power needs a steady stay at home RHD att his side. Names I come to think of, that even might be available, are Connor Murphy CHI, Rutta SJS, Carrier NSH, and as a bonus a cheap alternative, Pittsburghs St Ivany. At least Jokiharju has to go, as long as he has some value, but they probably has to retain half of his salary. Then there is the hope for a top six upgrade. Granlund will be traded by Sharks at some point, he can play all positions and special teams. But the fact is there are hard to find trade partners this time of the season. There were several options during offseason and nothing happened. And one thing for sure, if Adams makes a trade, it will be something totally different from what we wished for. At last something hypotetic that crossed my mind. What if there had been a bold move and we had sent Quinn and a first to Canes for Necas?
  24. Agree that the struggles some of the players have might be the first time in their lives. This is where the veteran leaders should come in, IF we hade some, to calm things down and remind them that there is always a next shift and keep moving those legs. And all of the real contenders have offensive pairs that works out no matter what. We have a good first line, but the rest is still loose pieces.
