  1. Cooley or Houser will go to Jacksonville once Toker is back.
  2. The Amerks are home on Wednesday 🤔
  3. If he had value, don’t you think he would have been moved by now?
  4. I ask the question because if UPL is in the Sabres long-term plans, then they are criminally negligent for how they’re handling his continued development. The team practices 2-3/week depending on how many games they play that week. That’s UPL’s ice time right now. GMKA said last year that UPL has to play to develop. If he is not in the long-term plan, what is he still doing here taking up a roster spot? Not to mention the Amerks starter (Tokarski) hasn’t played yet due to injury. The Amerks could actually use a good goalie right now (and not give up 40 shots a night, among other things).
  5. At this point, having a third goalie in the mix isn’t accomplishing anything. I realize UPL is on a one way deal so he’s making his NHL salary regardless of where he plays…but he’s not developing any further in the press box. Is it time to risk a waiver claim and send him down?
  6. Duff’s in Niagara Falls will do the trick.
  7. Sabres always scored six in the goat heads last year, so I’ll go 6-4 win
  8. Late season numbers generally dwarfed early season numbers pushing the average. While the Sabres are my #1, the Bills come first in WNY.
  9. This is not a Buffalo problem. Attendance is down league-wide. https://www.msn.com/en-ca/sports/nhl/several-nhl-teams-already-struggling-with-attendance/ar-AA1iwBWn?ocid=msedgntp&pc=ACTS&cvid=70cf165d6d654fd18ae558dd7c493fb2&ei=25 A couple notes: -The Caps sellout steak of 588 games ended this week. -Calgary & Winnipeg didn’t sell out their home opener. -San Jose only had 10k in their building this week. Buffalo has had October & November attendance problems throughout the drought. This isn’t new.
  10. I like your style. I’m currently sipping a glass of Angel’s Envy I bought for 47.99 in ROC this evening.
  11. A southern tier 19oz can at the arena is $16.50. It’s infuriating.
  12. I eat tacos weekly and it kind of depends what you’re looking for…but I would recommend Old Pueblo Grill on University for street tacos (second location in Victor), and La Casa in the south wedge for a more authentic experience.
  13. Born in Rochester, NY
  14. He did skate along the bench and get fist pounds, which I’ve never seen a goalie do before. That was kind of cool.
  15. I was going to try to make the case that Comrie could be an NHL talent, but after reviewing his career…the guy has only played 47 NHL games and he is 28 years old. Your point is a good one.
  16. This is not an excuse, but an observation that this team is still super young. There will continue to be improvement, but also situational growing pains (especially in moments like this against a multi Cup winning team).
  17. Same for us too (probably) 😬
  18. The story showed Tage’s path, but more importantly his work ethic, resiliency (life and hockey), and maturity. He would be in strong consideration for the captaincy role after Okposo…but the Sabres have a lot of deserving candidates. You love to see it.
  19. Right on. They’re top heavy and that’s what happens when you have to pay everybody. They’re still good if healthy. Kuch, Stammer, Hagel and Point are all 80 point plus players. However, if secondary guys like Cirelli, Nick Paul or Jeannot aren’t sticking out every night, they’re in real trouble. Also, Hedman isn’t the same.
  20. Observations from section 117 tonight: -Erik Johnson stepped up in the third with a shorter D lineup. He might not be able to eat minutes, but he stepped up when needed and he’s excellent for our PK. -Tampa did not look dangerous at all. Point, Hedman, Cirelli, & Sergachev didn’t make a play all night. Kuch was the only guy going other than Hagel who got to some dirty areas and was rewarded. Giving them a point when the Bolts are rolling with AHL goaltending was a bummer. -Power looked much more composed than opening week. He’s learning to use his size as leverage to keep opposing forwards outside danger areas. Also, that pass to Skinner was 🔥. I wonder if the game flow is starting to slow down for him? A good night for sure. -Tage was very defensively responsible tonight. He’s also owning his role on PK1 nicely. -Mitts and Greenway are a thing. I like their 5 on 5 game together. -Odd man rushes heavily favored Buffalo. No puck luck and that will come.
  21. If he ever deserves to be grounded, just make him watch the playoff perfect game on repeat 😜
  22. To me, what would be entertaining is more three on three. Just turn the clock off and play it out until someone scores. Want to add some flavor to the mix? My hot take from there is to not allow a puck possessor to willingly exit the offensive zone…if they do, they have to dump the puck in the corner and the defending team gets it. Something similar was suggested by @Taro T and I think he is onto something.
  23. I don’t find Granato’s demeanor to be any different from the head coaches across the rest of the league (by and large).
