Beginning to develop a theory they were NOT happy with what happened to Meatball and couldn’t give 2 s***s about Ruff and this “accountability” talk from a GM that paid them immediately after 1 good year. They don’t respect the GM. Worse, they no longer respect the organization. I also personally think this team hasn’t been the same since the Levi decision to sign out of college - which clearly came with promises of being on the roster. Accountability folks. We’re a joke. Need an alpha Hockey President. Same GM. And a coach that get out of these guys we’re stuck with for now until new GM figures it out. The longer we wait to do this the worse it is.

Only one player on this team makes players around him better. And he’s 19 years old.

It added Briere and Drury. Darcy had the foresight to see the league was going to crack down on the defensive clutch and grab era and built a team immediately ready to exploit the wide open game that would come post lockout. Darcy was a great GM.

Had opportunity to go to the game tonight. Wasn’t worth the effort. And I ain’t the only one. This franchise is in massive trouble.

These are games that if Tage doesn’t assert himself and take over, we are not a serious team. We lack a number 2 Center AND a number 1. Full circle from 2014.

I’ve been saying this for months. This team cannot be good if Owen Power is a bust. That it will never reach its potential if he isn’t good. The franchise will be set back years. That’s currently happening. A first overall pick. And somehow he’s being paid like a top 2 Dman when any other player drafted at any other pick would be in the minors. Sums up this team perfectly. Total disaster.

Thought the most outlandish thing he said was “I’d go to war with all these guys in the room” literally 1 minute after saying he almost had a deal in place with a team….it didn’t happen….you guys would have been screaming I would have overpaid. So someone he was willing to go to war with was on his way out in a deal. Just taking that further. Was it Quinn in the deal? Is that why he looks lost - like the GM who claims he’d go to war with all these guys was ready to trade one or more of them and he heard it may have been him in a deal? Is he dejected? Mad? Idk. Anyway… It’s just revealing. Like do you even believe the nonsense about all these young guys we need to have “sustained success” after more and more “conversations.” He likes having conversations. There are a lot of them. This organization needs a hockey alpha badly. We’re soft. It starts with the GM.

I can’t believe what’s happened to Cozens. I have 2 possible explanations: 1. They got paid 2. They see absolutely no one around the league is waiving their NMCs to come here - so we have overall checked out on the idea of ever winning significantly. I know folks in Buffalo don’t want to hear that. It’s a fact. Of all the cities these guys look at to spend the prime of their lives - getting taxed to death and dealing with 9 months of winter isn’t at the top of their list. Only the owner can fix that. He lives in Florida and comes up to visit the Bills.

It’s not that I don’t think he’s not a good player. You can’t build your team around him. And I’m convinced he’s too fragile.

My first job as new GM is find the team that thinks he is and get 2 of their top prospects.
