We need to go after Marner HARD!
Second Line Center replied to RETURNTOGLORY's topic in The Aud Club
I’m calling complete b.s. on this. The Leafs are going to lose one of the best players in the league - and the NHL is going to make sure they are compensated by forcing Vegas to trade them good players out of fear they will be investigated for “tampering.” No way Vegas didn’t (supposedly talking to Marner’s people) do what every single team does with UFAs Now suddenly the league wants to make an example of someone? What an absolute joke. Per the responses - yes the Leafs are extorting and blackmailing Vegas. -
Plan A: It’s going to be Levi and UPL The GM gave the contract to UPL that says we believe you’re a legit NHL starter They let Levi develop and cook in the minors this year. They did everything they could to make sure he didn’t hit free agency after Northeastern. He was the main piece in your Reinhart trade. They want him to be the guy. He’s going to be 24 in December. Beginning to feel like it’s now or never with Levi. Golden opportunity to take the job and relegate UPL to a backup. Not sure who your 3rd option can be at the moment. Plan B: In season trade.

This setup is a joke. These kids it’s a highlight of their lives/careers, dreams coming true - oh sorry we lost connection with the GM to welcome you. Anyway congrats sorry for parading you back here. -

Utah. Not giving up top 5 picks bc it’s Salt Lake City - fears no one wants to play there. Just 2 days ago: cc: JJ Peterka -

Right - I don’t necessarily mean I was expecting him. Could be a package for anyone. Specifically one including Byrum. -

Of course - I’m just expecting it to be in a trade package like you saw Montreal make today. My expectations have plummeted. -

Do You Like The JJP for Kesselring/Doan Trade RIGHT NOW?
Second Line Center replied to bob_sauve28's topic in The Aud Club
This is the scary part worst case scenario and why I believe it’s the only reason Adams has a job. We aren’t spending to the cap. Guys from ROR to Reinhart to Eichel asking out and immediately winning Cups. If we’re seen as a toxic organization bc Terry won’t pay or meddles way to much - you can’t survive that because the sad truth is Buffalo is Buffalo compared to every other city it is not at the top of anyone’s list of places to move and start families. Hockey players are not like football players. They have longer careers and have more say in where they want to go - or at least NOT GO. Thanks NMCs. -
I do think we can put to bed “the losing got to him he saw how inept the organization was” narrative. Jeremy White was saying in NOVEMBER he’s heard rumblings that JJ doesn’t long for Buffalo. So obviously, that was right. How could it be the losing? His first season was the we just fell short of 8th season. Season 2 was the disaster with Granato. So by November of season 3 he’s decided he’s done here bc of the losing? We jumbled up this drought into JJ’s 2 plus seasons here. This was something else and not money. The player either hated the city or the team wasn’t really long for him - maybe the speculation stuff off ice/attitude and what not was seen as a problem. Losing. Doesn’t make sense.

I feel like - if there is a plan - the idea is to not only be tougher to play against, be more physical - but increase the overall team IQ. I feel like both players acquired in the trade do that. I think a lot of what players lack when it comes to defense is a very low hockey IQ. These guys are pros they obviously know the game. But RELATIVE to who we play - I always feel like we’re the dumber team. Especially when it’s playing in our own zone. That was JJ. That said, it shouldn’t cost JJ to get these 2 guys but I’m sure we’ll get a defiant Adams after the draft talking about “we don’t know everything that goes on behind the scenes” or something.
-
We would have paid that. He truly did not want to be here. The return sucks bc we weren’t sending him to where he wanted to go. That’s my guess. There were better options but we chose to send him to Utah. I’m not so sure why I’m both mad and intrigued. Most have something to do with having JJ and still being God awful. He doesn’t play anything like playoff hockey will demand. What do I know. I’m a big “you can’t quantify chemistry with analytics” guy. Bye bye JJ. Thank you for your contributions and making everyone around you better.

Double whammy. He’s giving final say on this. And giving it to a GM that might be gone by Thanksgiving.

Kevyn Adams pre draft press conference and shenanigans festival
Second Line Center replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
He has used the word “conversations” about 12,456 times. Loser. He’s a total loser. I have zero faith he is up to this job. And in the process he’s making a mockery of this organization. Not that Pegula cares.
