  1. Yea I'm not getting the hate over what was clearly a guy they targeted. Size? That's it? I'm intrigued for sure but I'm a build from the net out guy first.
  2. . The first rounder would still be in the 20s and what if he gets hurt? And I'm sure he'd just be a happy warrior all season.
  3. Adams has 5 years job security. This is a full tear down rebuild. It's not tanking. They're doing what needs to be done to build a team of players that A. Want to be here and B. Aren't tainted with 6 plus years of being the worst franchise in professional sports. Now get 2 elite prospects for Jack and it's a great start. Getting 1st overall next year fast tracks it. But we'll worry about that next April.
  4. He has clearly told everyone he's going to market. The bridge deals hurt us here but whatever.
  5. Wonder if this leak came from Florida prematurely. We didn't have any reason to excite our fans at midnight last night.
  6. He isn't planning on being last. They want to win. That message will be clear. It just isn't going to happen. This will take years.
  7. This is all I'm trying to figure out. Because as soon as an RFA is traded it usually comes with a new contract....I think. How much is his RFA status an issue? Would we give up elite or high end prospects for an RFA that won't sign long term here? How much leverage does Sam have?
  8. Because teams that sense they can win it tend to spend more at the trade deadline for valuable (possible rentals) then teams over the summer who hope to keep said potential rental long term but he isn't sure he wants to stay there. Yes I do think you'd get more in a deadline deal in this situation. Florida isn't parting with anything significant if they don't think they can lock him up - can someone offer sheet Sam, etc. We'll see what the return is but if it's what's reported what other reason you got besides Adams sucks.
  9. How is Sam's contract situation not impacting this? If so he should have been dealt at the deadline, no?
  10. He'll be 6'0 and 185 - 190 by the time he's 21 and in the NHL. Patrick Kane was also 5'10 and 162 when drafted. Relax folks.
  11. I'm feeling confident the return on Eichel and Sam will include several C prospects.
  12. 7G and 2 assists at the U18s Never has had more assists then Goals in a season. Pure goal scorer.
  13. Ha! Fitting. He says in step 4 of 5, to repeat steps 1 thru 3. Meaning he never gets to step 5. Putting the process in an endless loop you never get out of. Like the Sabres.....I kid I kid. Not really.
  14. If it's players coming back that would have to be protected. That's all I got. I'm just convinced the return on Risto is going to be a pick and a meh prospect. Making losing Borgen unnecessary. We'll just have to wait and see how this all plays out over the next few months - and it could be that regarding Eichel, Sam, and Risto.
  15. Yea I've slept on this and I was of the opinion yesterday that we didn't have to lose Borgen it seemed they weren't picking expiring contracts... Now I'm actually ticked off and think it was really really bad management. Sorry it's just a fact. Risto should have been unprotected. And they would have took Miller - far more preferable. Maybe Gus. I keep forgetting Miller was an expiring contract to.
  16. I'm just done hearing about we don't use him right. I'm doubting the return on Risto. And we know that he's been a major part of a defense that has been atrocious his entire tenure here. So yes, the "analytics" to all that you said and I'm sure the front office is thinking to has some merit. Fine. I just disagree. But again my point, Seattle wasn't going to pick Risto. We could have him and Borgen right now and would have lost Miller -imo.
  17. I don't think by the way it looks Seattle would have taken Risto. I'd rather have exposed him. If we exposed him they take Zemgus or Miller, no? Wouldn't that have been better then losing Borgen? If Risto is only returning a 2nd round pick, sorry, I'd rather keep Borgen and risk losing Risto. Which again, looks like they wouldn't have picked him. Where am I wrong?
  18. You mean trading (soon) Jack Eichel didn't make this obvious? I think their future in Buffalo is seriously at risk.
