  1. It appears many are discounting the first 10 games because of events of the past. And that's understandable given collapses - one in spectacular fashion - after recent hot starts. But this is obviously a very different team than those previous ones. And any of the players on this team who also were part of those past teams are at different points of their careers/development and under vastly different circumstances. There was a poll about six weeks ago (can't recall who did it) where we voted on ranges of season-end point total projections for the Sabres. It would be interesting to see how these 10 games would change our responses if the poll was re-done now. This would defuse some of the 'how'd this work out the last three times' and also not have to answer the question 'where is there?'.
  2. Is this an indication he may be ready to go tomorrow night?
  3. When I come up behind a 'left lane clogger' I will give them ample time to move over. Then I'll pass them on the right. But what amazes me is that after three or four more drivers do the same, shouldn't the pokey driver be thinking 'maybe I should get out of the left lane?'. Completely unaware of their surroundings.
  4. And the reaction of his teammates upon his arrival at the bench was fantastic. These guys are tight.
  5. Keep up he good work ..... 👍
  6. So, how about Asplund? (Sorry to derail the thread).
  7. Yep, that sucked. Northeastern was playing on ESPN+ at 7 on Saturday followed by the Sabres at 10. Perfect. Missed the very beginning of the NU game and was like, "who IS THAT in net?". Then I saw another goalie on the bench not named Levi. WTF happened? Then the foolishly over-optimistic Sabres fan in me was wondering if he had been put on a plane to Vancouver and I missed the news. 😆 (Call it bourbon brain).
  8. How much of this surge in Dahlin's game be traced back to his switching sides and being paired with Muel mid-season last year?
  9. " ..... an unusually high number of right shot defencemen ..." 👍 It's going to be fun to see what the scouting and analytics team can find with those three second round picks.
  10. Managed to stay awake for the entire game. The two FA additions? Comrie was a stud. And Boosh? I can see why he didn't 'fit' in TO.
  11. The correct answer is .... Nothing.
  12. The only 'logjam' he needs to be concerned with in the near future is beating out Bryson (assuming Johnson stays on the left side).
  13. At least we'll never have to hear 'Hypnotize'. 😳
  14. I look at this comparison in the context of what our college hoops coach used to say .... "you are going to have an off day shooting but there's no excuse for an off day playing defense". The things Muel has shown are not likely to deteriorate as long as he keeps putting in the work.
  15. Awesome piece on Granato's hockey pathway in The Athletic today. Here's the link (paywall): https://theathletic.com/3624340/2022/10/11/sabres-coach-don-granato-wisconsin-badgers-hockey/
  16. Totally agree. Having listened to a few of his press conferences since the pre-season began, I find his answers to questions to be clear, simple and insightful. Listening to his predecessor while on that staff must have been gut-churning to DG.
  17. He'll be highly productive in the slot between Diggs and Davis.
  18. These should be valued qualities in ANY workplace. And those who don't value them (and sadly there are many) are the ones with the problem.
  19. Can't speak for every other team. And @Pimlach I wholeheartedly agree with the second statement. If my post came across as anything other then I didn't make myself clear. My only point was that we we will have many leaders on this team, if not now then in the very near future, and there's only 3 letters to go around. And that will hopefully help the Sabres become much better than just decent.
  20. 😂 Now I get your 'Baby" post in the other Prospects thread.
  21. Casey and Cozens are the two guys that really need to break out for the Sabres to take another step forward. Obviously hoping they both do. But I have much more confidence in the latter than the former.
  22. i just don't get the angst about KO maybe being here only a year or two. The unquestioned leader of this team, who was most deserving, got the letter. The young, emerging leaders on this team will benefit greatly from having Kyle around as C for however long he is here.
  23. Posted this previously in the Tage thread but really belongs here. This is interesting. The Sabres have gone how many years with a dearth of leadership? Now, between the present and emerging leaders in this organization there is the possibility that a handful of them will never wear a letter simply due to numbers, not worthiness.
  24. Pot shops close at 10?
