You are correct. Oak Hill is in Pittsford but it can’t absorb the number of people that will most likely be there. ROC will be busier than normal I assume.
-
How great will that be to have the Marlies and the Rock vanquished by WNY teams in the same week with the Leafs getting the boot, too?
-
Just a heads up for you guys planning to go in for the game Wednesday. The PGA Championship is at Oak Hill this week. Restaurants may be quite busy.

The Stanley Cup Playoffs 2023: Second Round GDT.

And there you have it. All these years of futility perfectly encapsulated in one single graphic. -
On the Rosen clip ... put a Sabres sweater with #71 on it and he looks like a carbon copy on that PP goal. Right down to holstering his stick afterward.

I was wondering about the Leafs D last night. How many of those guys are ‘home grown’? Did they simply trade for an entire D corps? -
Agree. Casey is a top-6 forward. Get CM on Cozens' wing along with Quinn and he'll be a regular 60 point player and be the perfect complement skill-wise to the other two. And provide a solid option to step into the center slot if needed. For me, I'm using other assets to acquire a (badly needed) 4D. And lots of other parts are available for a third line.

We have a top line that potted nearly 120 goals this year. Why do we want to start screwing with that? There is enough talent on this roster beyond those guys that ‘balancing the scoring’ is unnecessary, if not foolish. BTW, would Tage, Tuch, Skinner be the highest scoring line in the NHL this year? Or would that be McDavid and two traffic cones?
-
Refreshing that DG will have ample skill to assemble lines. I believe the Sabres will have 3 very potent lines soon, regardless of Granato’s mixing and matching of personnel. Just a matter of how quickly Savoie and Kulich can get up to speed.

Was in Baldwinsville visiting the in- laws (hometown of #89) and got to watch the game on the ‘real’ MSG feed. If there was ever a night this year to not have the post game cut off by ESPN+, this was it. Lots of great stuff. As an added bonus, I didn’t have to suffer through the New Amsterdam Vodka commercials 20 (or more) times. Not exaggerating. Separately, if this was KO’s last home game with the Sabres, it got no play on the broadcast (missed the first period). Interesting.

Yes. Like on the wing with Cozens and Quinn. It could well be a 70 goal line.

This thread is reminding me of the former (?) NY Jets owner with the ultimate redundant name: Woody Johnson
-
Given the dearth of D prospects in their pipeline, I don't think the Sabres should be overly picky.
-
Thanks guys. Why did they have to make this so complicated? Regardless, here’s hoping he makes the Sabres out of camp and stays in Buffalo for the duration. Even if he is playing on the wing initially.
-
Question for those in the know. So Savoie can’t go to ROC. Say he makes the Sabres opening roster, plays in BUF until mid-Nov and the team decides he’s not ready. Or he gets injured and needs a rehab assignment. What then? Can he then be sent to Rochester? Is the only option back to the WHL? At what point does the WHL no longer determine where he can play?

Good to see Levi perform fairly well in the shootout. Of course it helped immensely that there were no Sabres d-men on the ice.

You're tempting fate @Doohickie. You might be opening yourself up to derisive comments from an agitated landscaper questioning why you are writing about grasses on a hockey board. 🙄 -
GDT: Sabres at Flyers-04-01 7:00PM MSG+/NBCS/ESPN+/WGR

Unforced errors. Intercepted passes. Pucks sent to nowhere. Pretty good synopsis of the whole season. If you combine all of that with their awful performance at the face off dot and losing puck battles with regularity (all possession killers) it’s stunning that this team is in the top 3 in the league in scoring. Is that an indication of the skill this team possesses or a sign of them abandoning defensive responsibility for the sake of activating offense? Clean up or improve upon those things at the top and …. oh my. 😲 -

Very true. And I highly doubt the words ‘play free’ were ever uttered by Rod Brind’Amour. -

WRT development next year, maybe we shouldn’t underestimate the benefits of Levi practicing against the third highest scoring team in the NHL every day (or however often they do practice). -

I wasn’t able to see the game last night but followed along here and watched the extended highlights this morning. Then the following dawned on me this morning (pun unintended). Assuming in his remaining games the Levi we saw last night is a reasonable representation of the player he is, it is going to be a painfully long wait between the end of the season and the start of next in October. And this from someone who subscribes to the idea that you don’t wish your life away. -

That blows. That's all I got. -
I wouldn't fire DG yet but I would insist on a makeover of his staff and much more emphasis on everyone defending in their own end. What's so, so disturbing to me is that they are looking just like the Sabre teams of the final 6-8 weeks of the Bylsma, Housley and Krueger eras. Though unlike the others I don't believe they've quit on Granato. Someone upthread used the term 'unwatchable'. Bingo. I've turned the broadcast off four of the past six games. And I had only done that one other time this year because it sickened me to see the Leafs' fans celebrating in the KBC.
