Report: Teams are "poking around the Sabres" about Victor Olofsson
Scottysabres replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
I believe we can get a late 1st. -
My mom passed away last Thursday @ 1:21AM. Thanks in advance to all for the condolences, she's the one who introduced me to hockey from birth. She was a fanatic, the apple never falls far from the tree. My complaint? I am going to buy a jersey and name plate it with my moms maiden name, Linda Morgan (you can see her obit on wattengale.com), but, the cemetery where she is being interned won't let me erect a 20' flag pole with a Sabres flag over her..... So, I get it, rules is rules, not even veterans get flag poles, but that doesn't mean I can't vent about it. Thanks all for hearing me out.

After the Whistle… Rivet and Peters
Scottysabres replied to Long time lurker's topic in The Aud Club
Hasn't heard these 2 in a long while now. Forgot they were still a thing on some platform. Not that I dislike their points of view, but I was hoping wgr could get a daily hockey related broadcast team on the air that spent more time talking about hockey and less about their comfort zone of tighty whitey's or their golf game. -
A Top 4 Defenseman is Adams Top Priority per Lebrun

He's got 1 yr @ 4.025 mil left. What's his next contract demands going to be? -
Good, the seadon is over, now we can focus on our Sabres.
-
Ya, I'm not big on grammer. Life's to short to worry about a word or 10 😀

So, just reading the tea leaves in this thread, we'd rather Samson win the cup than Jack. I really don't care which one it is, it's not the Sabres so I'm indifferent as to which wins.

Would he sign an offer sheet from the Sabres? -
Power is just getting started, I don't see him as complete of an offensive d man as Dahlin, close, but not complete. What I do see is a beast both in the D zone and the transition game. I saw Power grow as the season progressed in protecting the puck, puck control and the transition game. His positioning and coverage in the D zone improved as well. He still had the occasional gaffe as all youngsters will, but I was impressed over all.
-
At 8.5? Yes He's a 1st OA pick that looks every bit the part. Power is going to continue to grow in to that frame of his, he's going to be a force on the back end imho.
-
I believe he'll want Dahlin money.
-
I believe it's highly unlikely your going to see Power on a 7 or 8 year extension. His agent has to know a 1 to 3 yr deal post ELC sets Power up for a fat long term deal from 23 to 25 yrs old on up. Just my hunch.

With regard to Adams and an RHD.... I'm guessing he's going to want that top 4 RHD to be NHL experienced (thinking 25 to 30 age range) and cost controlled (already under contract at a reasonable cost for 3 / 4 years or more). I started looking at teams rosters on capfriendly but am unfamiliar with many of the other teams D players game style (stay at home, 2 way, offensive). Anyone have any thoughts on it outside of the already beat to death names? Is my guess fairly accurate even? -
I have a few questions....but first, I like the "Sultan" aspect of this. Gives a medeviel vibe. 1. Is "Sultan Randy" willing to change his Micronation flag to the Sabres flag? If so, that Sultan uniform has to change with it. 2. While our potential illustrious Sultan doesn't have the geographical space to fit an arena, I would be more than open to transferring Key Bank arena over to this new "Sultan Randy's Sabres Micronation" for 41 four hr periods a year provided the following: 2a. The Sultan wears a player name plated original jersey. 2b. The Sultan sits in the owners box to the immediate left seat of Terry Pegula. 2c. Both the Sultan and Terry are not permitted contact with the GM, Coaches, Players at all. 3. The Sultan must attend ALL Buffalo's Elvis Autogragh signings. 4. No NTC/NMC fir the Sultan, the team reserves the right to hold his contract in a state of permanent ELC. These are my questions/demands before considering such a move. Add as you all see fit.

Does the NHL need to change the rules for expansion teams to make it harder for them? Yes! All expansion teams should be forced to build from scratch, thereby ensuring our Sabres get 2 points from them early and often in the expansion clubs infant years. A biased answer? Absolutely. But I'd like our team to feast on the NHL's baby flesh like Sabretooths on a carcass. 😀 Go Sabres!!!

The way Casey stepped in on the top line at the end of the season my question on moving him is this: is the talent in the pipeline capable of the same thing? My view is, Casey has progressed to a point where he can seamlessly flow up and down the line up chart. That was vested time in him. A majority of the same group are due back this coming season, we are going for a playoff run. I'd rather they keep Casey, just my view is all.
-
That's what I figured, a 1 or 2 yr bridge deal following his ELC, which should be no issue with the Sabres. No matter what, Dahlin and Power stay is where my convictions lay.
-
That whistle and the non called penalty are definitely suspect, by no means am I a conspiracy nut. Something wasn't right there to be sure.
-
Well, I'm no Irv to be sure, my talent isn't there but the spirit in me tried 😀

He called fire fighters smoke eaters and Blaze busters all the time
-
"Topping tonight's Eyewitness News, Canada's smoke-eaters are not to be found as wildfires rage uncontested across Eastern Canada. The blazebusters are currently in their Trudeau diversity, equity, inclusion classes which include the course: Exporting Smoke, how to surcharge America for every cubic meter and send Canadian Truckers to 1930's style re-education camps."

Yes, the shifting climate isn't a good thing for "settled living". But then, the Earth has gone through heating and cooling periods across its history. Ice ages, high temp events, meteor strikes, tectonic plates that snap under the seduction process that actually slightly shift or alter the shape of the planet (which both the recent Thailand and Japan seduction events did in scientific fact do) all have an impact on altering weather patterns. Throw in 8+ billion humans now on the planet that are in some way, shape or form involved in industrial processes that has impacts on the atmosphere because we as a species are in denial that it's the numbers that are the problem, not said processes as we have the ability for emissions capture, and it spells out transitioning times ahead. But I digress. -

Gotta grow them there fruits and veggies in the once bone dry California flat country that's not flooded lol I was in a helo squadron 30 years ago out of North Island Air Station, we did workshops on emergency water dumps if called upon to assist state authorities. The redirecting of water in California is beyond significant, even those that administered that water flow admitted openly back then the environmental impact studies were a joke, with not one of them even remotely accurate as they were submitted with conclusions of "minimal impact". Well, that was a straight out lie.....and Cali pays a price for those lies. -
