OT: Canada smoke smells of shame and Martin Short
Scottysabres replied to PASabreFan's topic in The Aud Club
It's getting worse because of the army corps of emgineers water shed diversion programs off of the Western ranges for the past 90 years. -
In to the valley of the 23/24 seadon rode the 600. Because Power ain't going anywhere. I'll ride the 3 headed Levi/UPL/Comrie monster in to the valley of the shadow of death before even entertaining this.
-
I'd want Comrie going out Why? Because I never trusted goalies who's name reminds me of Crummie.

I'm not impressed with Hart overall. While it is true he played some decent netminding behind a terrible Flyers defensive Corp play wise, I'm not looking at him through my own prism of what the team needs in net, but I'm trying to look through Adam's prism. With Levi needing a veteran mentor or, example setter? At 24, I don't see Hart as that guy. Is it age alone? No, it's also caliber of success rate, both in win/loss as well as leadership in the crease dept. I just am not impressed with the former and given Philly's crease guard depth, don't see it in the latter. I'm definitely over thinking it, but I'd rather my attempt at ESP of Adam's plan be over thought as opposed to under I guess.

True Yes, I am guilty 😜 But hey, I'm only a product of my hometown hockey environment? 😆

What tickles me is the big hoopla some Sabres fans made when Peterson decided Buffalo wasn't for him. And Breire has gone full on tank for a rebuild via draft and prospect assets mode, a la Sabres 2013/14. He must have been given the green light to tear it down I'm guessing.

So.....just around the corner then 🤣

I was in the Town of Lyndon just outside of Franklinville all weekend with nice camp fires. I'm 52, I've walked these woods and hills for my entire life, it wasn't remotely close to the driest of seen it in my life time. Back in the early-mid 80's there was a couple of years where it was bone dry. My grandfather and father used to tell me the dry spell in the 60's was the last they remembered before then, it's definitely a cyclical event.

Me to. He's going to need a contract, he's an rfa. He has some stability in sv%, especially behind that disaster Philly team the last 2 seadons, but what is his expectations for contract is what I'm asking.

I think this TSN "guess" tweet and the Provorov rumor crashed HF 🤣
-
So, D-Day has arrived for the goalie market, the invasion begins.....
-
Worth the contract 😀

The wife walked in as I was finishing that post........from the shower 😅 Truth!

I believe so to Tom. Was just thinking of how the sandwich would taste if the jam is spread evenly over the slice of bread.
-
Dang, was hoping 8.75 per so Power could be long termed as well.
-
I just read a couple of the Jets fans thoughts on his comments in their HF Winni board, let the chuckles commence 🤣

Panthers have the goaltending. Florida in 5

I see what you did there ðŸ¤

Actually, both Reinhart and Eichel were picked 2nd over all. And it has already been pointed out, post cap modern era expansions teams get extremely nice selection pools and can weaponize early years cap space to further target and acquire roster ready talent, which Vegas fully put on display since the teams inception. Buffalo ownership made some poor choices in management selections and/or had poor advisors around them, showing there is more to running an NHL Franchise then the talent on the ice. Imho.

Do I have a great fast food real life event story for ya. My youngest is a fitness and health die hard. At 18, she gets it. But her school and work schedule sometimes gives her the very small window to feed from time to time. So, she's coming out of UB North Campus one day, decides to hit the McDonalds on the BLVD in Amherst while on the way to work. She ordered a plain burger, she ended up with a Big Mac, someone else's order. Then, about 2 months later, same schedule crunch, she decides on Burger King in NT (She has to roll from UB North to the medical offices on river rd in NT), same order, plain burger, she gets 2 bacon double cheeseburgers. Here's the hilarity of it. It was the same employee at McD's in Amherst, and at BK in NT. Turns out, my little girl wouldn't let the 2nd order mess up slide, so after going back to BK, she learns the guy that was at both was fired from McD's in Amherst for messing up orders, she just happened to get victimized by this youngman twice, once at each location 🤣

Adam's has always said he wants guys that want to be here. Call me crazy, but since the Adams-Granato team took control, the Sabres organization overall has been trending in the right direction. I'm glad a young player coming in recognizes that, I believe many others do to. -
I don't see Adam's moving any one of the already drafted and in the system/already on the roster 1st rounders. Same with a rising Peterka. His MO is "build for long term success", removing already NHL acclimating pieces or freshly selected developing high end potential talent without seeing what he has yet isn't something I see him doing. To be frank, I don't see him moving the 13th over all this year in such a deep draft under Adam's publicly stated strategy imho. But, who knows.

To be fair, the Knights expansion pick ups and the absurd draft capitol play a far more pivotal role than Eichel has in their drive to a potential cup. Eichel was traded to a team already set up for success, in a conference that isn't nearly as strong competition wise as their Eastern Conference counterparts.
