  1. Ya, the refs are controlling the flow of the game to an extent. Happens from time to time though.
  2. That call was BS
  3. Injury bug hitting at a bad time. Hoping these are just dings and nothing long term. But the defense is getting banged up a bit.
  4. It's a combination of some of the subject matter in the poll choices as well as individual player markers. Once training camp regimens through out the off season wind down and 3/4's of pre-season games cull the roster ranks a bit, there is a good reason why the last pre-season game or 2 get announcements by the coach or staff that it's playing the up coming roster for the season or near to it. New roster personnel have the last 2 weeks to begin to build chemistry, focus on system, linemates/partners acclimation, assess their individual strengths and weaknesses in such a confine and begin to address the good (how to make it even better) and the bad (areas to focus on of immediate improvement need). The first quarter of the season this process will continue as the main subjects IMHO. Does that mean the sky is falling if they don't burst out of the gate in near perfection? No, but the team is younger, they will continue to build upon what we already know they're capable of, again, IMHO. Worried? No. Would we like them to smash every opponent in the regular season? Of course. But we have a young netminder, new personnel to incorporate and the continued development of the young returning for yet another season of chemistry building block work. If there ever was a season to break out and cement their position as a playoff team, this, is that season. I'll cheer them on even if they have early on growth as a group pains. Oh sure, I'll bitch and whine as many will when those pains manifest themselves in individual game performances, but I have the upmost confidence that if all do their duty, as I know they will, the Sabres will be victorious in their run to a playoff spot this season. Go Sabres!
  5. Boston sent us a Trojan Horse as a thank you for Ullmark? Bill Billicheat and Jan Brady would approve....
  6. Did I mention it was better to get the clunker out of the way before the season starts 😉 I know Crusader, but let me have my fun poking the bear before the season does start. I'm still miffed Adams really didn't elevate our defense to a contending group. I know, I know, let's see how it rolls and all that, but yeesh man, how many seasons we gotta wait and see 😆
  7. Onky, It's not an experiment. That's our first pair defense almost certainly. If there was only a top 4 grizzled veteran RHD that was available for trade.......(Pesce)
  8. He did save a bunch of money on his car insurance.... By car pooling with Rayzor to work 😉
  9. Penguins look every bit season ready. They are playing good hockey, taking the body, clogging lanes, crisp passing, faster than the young Sabres. They're controlling the game.
  10. Well, better to get the stinker game out of the way before the season starts. It is a bit concerning though, at every level.
  11. Right, because acquiring bad habits now will have no impact going forward 🙄 They certainly are blowing past Sabres players this game.
  12. Maybe, but we know this team is capable, so, what's the issue is my question. They either want to gain control of the game, or something is preventing them, again, imho.
  13. The Penguins are straight out in control of this game. Pre-season or not, if you can't match the intensity, that's a character issue. Imho.
  14. If this is the roster at seasons open, it's not the players that concern, it's the urgency in play. Pittsburgh is flat out out playing the Sabres in every facet of the game right now save the score board, that's reality.
  15. Not a fan of Benson with Middlestadt. Foolishness IMHO. Much prefer Benson on line 1, or if they want to keep the original line 1 together, then on Cozens wing on line 2.
