The Arizona Coyotes Arena Referendum fails to pass

Worked in SLC and Provo/Orem corridor many times, area is fantastic. Hockey? Not sure, but has the weather for it. -
That is something I thought of as well. I admit, the answer is elusive if Levi isn't ready by the turn of the next off season. And yes, I'm full aware Adam's looks long term. If the rumor is true and the Sabres are interested in Hellebyuck, I did surmise a long term contract could be in the cards. He'll be 30 at the start of the season, I'm guessing he's looking at his sunset contract, 7 years? 37 at the end of it maybe? I can't see him wanting a 2 or 3 year deal. It's a great question though Weave, and 1 that does eat at me, especially with that median age I posted on earlier about goalies taking the reigns. I also asked myself if there was a better option out there, that would be in the Sabres rumor mill as interested as well. But again, your question is a real conversation for pros and cons, and admittedly, I haven't an answer. So many variables, will Helle stay peak through his 30's? Can a contract have an out option say at yr 4, a limited NMC/NTC and so on? Great conversation to be had.

I happen to agree with everything you say here. I would only want him for the year, it certainly can't hurt the Sabres any to have Hellebyuck/Levi net tandem for 1 yr, imo. The cost should be measured to such. That year affords 30 to 35 games of Levi, allowing him not to be over burdened early on. But yes, the blueline most definitely should take precedence, I concur.
-
Since I don't believe either one of those players would be necessary to acquire 1 yr of Helle in a deal I don't hold the cost to be an over payment situation. Goalies of his caliber very rarely, if ever, move at the dead line. If the Jets are looking to rebuild as opposed to retooling, they would more than likely move him this off season either at the draft or in to the UFA period. If that is their direction, they hold no leverage over the cost to acquire situation. They either want assets for the future, or they don't, and the Sabres are ripe with assets for the future. Edit: I do concur improving the D takes some pressure off of the netminders.

It's accurate. And so is the menial norm for starting goalie age. I mean honestly, you don't see many 21/22 yr Olds shouldering the season game load. But, I posted my opinion of the Hellebyuck rumor, gave my reasoning behind it. Could be right, could be wrong, it's not the hill I'm going to die on as it pertains to the larger picture of the organization. Defense however, is a different story ๐

1 yr of Hellebyuck price aside for a moment, focusing on Levi. My opinion differs based on known league precedents on netminders of his age and performance in the entirety of a season and its outcome. There is sound reasoning as to why most netminders do not take the reigns until 24 or older. For example, Miller was 25, Hasek was actually 26 just turning 27. And while I admit there are those that have done so, I submit they are fee because they are the exception. 12 going on 13 seasons, at some point risk mitigation comes in to play, as the brand has been decimated by the past 10 year catastrophe, imho. There's no reason to put all of the eggs in Levi's basket if options are available bolster his game load more in line with the norm, again, imho.
-
Relying on Levi in his first full season at his age to shoulder 50+ games is being disingenuous about wanting to end the playoff drought, respectfully. If what was rumored about Adam's looking for a goalie is true, Hellebyuck if available should be a prime target imho.

You want to improve the draft lottery? Then get rid of it imho. It's a joke, again, imho.

The Stanley Cup Playoffs 2023: Second Round GDT.
Scottysabres replied to Eleven's topic in The Aud Club
They beat us to the dance, if we played that season scenario 10 times they might beat us to the dance 9. But, not this coming season, this coming season we stay with then, we knock them out of the playoffs, because we can. We were born to watch our Sabres run to the cup in the 23/24 season, I'm sick and tired of hearing about how much better Reinharts and Eichels teams are, SCREW'EM, next season, is our time!!!! -

I have faith, at least, that's what I've told myself these past 52 years. So don't be my buzz kill ๐ -

Not for nothin' but I'd put our Sabres up against both Reinharts and Eichels current teams and take the odds our Sabres kick the bicycle made for 2 out of both ๐ -

Would be nice to see the Leafs swept, but I'm no fan of Florida either. -
We'll make the playoffs without moving a piece is my current view of the situation. Players grow, they physically and mentally develop. I have full confidence we're going to the playoffs next season, without moving a single piece in a trade.

This makes a strong case MGTOW. In today's ultra faced paced news cycle society a person's future could be altered permanently before a complete release of all the evidence of an investigation.

Stand pat, make the picks. I'd rather grow the prospect pool beyond the big clubs ability to absorb them all. This strategy affords a 2 pronged approach. 1. Builds young, speedy, aggressive depth, forcing healthy competition for big club roster spots. 2. Some of these picks will fizzle out. Some will fail to make the jump to the next level, but the larger the pool that does, they raise their value creating capitol the organization could use, if prudently done, could sustain us for the next decade as cup contenders. So stay the course Adams, draft the picks.

I'm on a roll, just run with it :๐

Bedard and McDavid get to battle it out to see who will represent the Western Conference as runner up to the Eastern Conference Stanley Cup winning Buffalo Sabres for the next 15 years.

Apparently some Leafs fans threatened the family of a referee from the Tampa series, I guess that ref was assigned game 3 of the Florida series as well. Scumbag move to threaten the family or a ref themselves. A lot of deranged mofo's in this world today.
