  1. I'm not convinced we'd win more games if the team fought more. I think it just feels better to get revenge.
  2. Liked him and Jeremy, especially them ribbing him about all the foods he's never tried... Peanut butter?!?! 🤣 I won't be sad to see "Howard Picks the Bills" gone for good. It was always the most hyped, most boring part of the show.
  3. I consider myself among the many Gen X'ers that didn't let my now 15 and 13yo kids fail and figure stuff out for themselves when they were younger. Now they suck at it and are playing catch-up when compared to my generation. That said, I think that it makes a lot of financial sense for a kid to stay at home if you live close to a good school/program that they are interested in. I've seen plenty of colleagues' kids go away to "find themselves" only to be unemployed/unemployable after getting their liberal art$ diploma$ somewhere out of town.
  4. He also didn't make Team Canada.
  5. You can't compare point production from Reinhart's era to now. You're better off looking at ppg ranking. Savoie is 22nd. Reinhart was 9th.
  6. I don't want Savoie until he shows he can dominate in the WHL. From the looks of the stat sheet, he appears to be pretty far behind expectation.
  7. What part of Niagara did you live in. I grew up in St Catharines and didn't know too many Sabres fans, but I'm only 47.
  8. That's not right. Leafs rule in Niagara. At best, Fort Erie / Niagara Falls / Welland might be 30% Sabres at best. Leafs are better than 50%... Though a lot of Leaf fans would put the Sabres as their 2nd team. St Catharines is maybe 20% Sabres if you're lucky, but still there's a lot of people that have Buffalo as their 2nd team. Past St Catharines (i e. Lincoln, Grimsby where I now live, etc), it might be 10% Sabres- tops... and probably 60-70% Leafs. That's the boots on the ground observation from a guy that's spent most of his 47 years years living, working, and playing throughout the Niagara Region.
  9. Yep... Agreed. But... I can't recall a single instance where a public figure like Kim didn't give any details on their health crisis, so it just seems a bit odd. Again, I'll still defend their right to privacy even though I don't understand it.
  10. I'm not going to wade into the fray of whether the Pegulas should say anything or not about what happened to Kim. I will say though I don't remember any time where someone in the public eye (like Kim is) has been this protected about their privacy.
  11. By my guess this is his 6th or 7th game where he hasn't been shooting.
  12. On the ice, either one is readily replaceable with our cap space. Off the ice, KO would be key to have for one more year for his mentorship. After his first contract here, he kind of owes us a discount too. 😉
  13. Considered putting this thought in tonight's GDT but thought it might merit it's own discussion. While Quinn, Peterka, and Krebs still haven't fully hit their stride, their presence in the lineup still has been a MAJOR boost over last year. That's because they're effectively replacing the minutes Eakin, Bjork, and Hayden were playing (albeit on different lines). Bjeaken were three of the absolute worst players in the league, yet they played a regular shift all season long. By next year, as the kids' man-strength develops and they have a full season of playing NHL hockey under their belts, we could be well on our way to having the runaway best offense in the league.
  14. Need Oloffson in Cozens' spot. They're giving him all the space in world because they know he's not a shooting threat.
  15. As I've said before... Leave Tage in his spot, and let teams try to take him away. Put VO on the opposing half boards, and let him fire away unopposed. PP2, repeat with Quinn, and another sniper... Not sure who though.
  16. Though Allen is still better overall, I think Cam Newton exists in this "data base". He's big, and he was a pretty good QB when he was Allen's age. Allen's arm is good enough that I think he'll still be serviceable once his running game is done... But without improvement, he won't be the same elite QB fans want to think he is.
  17. Josh being Josh means he's a constant run threat. As per the usual timeline with running QBs, his window is smaller.
  18. Time will tell. But we all saw Burrow get the job done when under less than ideal conditions. Maybe in Allen's case it is the OL, the WR's, and Dorsey. I think it's more plausible that he's not the same QB if he's not running the ball on a consistent basis.
  19. I didn't say it was his fault. I just said he's not an elite pocket QB. When he's a consistent run threat and teams adjust their defenses for it, he can play at an MVP calibre. When he's not running, as he did in the back half of the season, he's not great.
  20. As much as most people don't want to believe it, Allen isn't an elite QB unless he's consistently running the ball. Maybe he'll one day develop into a true pocket passer, but as of today, he's much closer to being a Cam Newton than a Tom Brady.
  21. It's Blackcat Lake in the Haliburton Water Trails Camping area. It's like an Algonquin Jr. PS- Anyone have tips on posting pics from my phone direct on here without it showing a link?
  22. Camping country too! That was a from a portage trip we did last summer. https://photos.app.goo.gl/zfc6zMasFQLBMnad7
  23. If it weren't for sentimental reasons, everyone would want Girgensons out. After that, assuming they can be exchanged with NHL average players, I'm taking 2 goalies... I'm still not sure who.
  24. Are we playing too many games? It looks like no one is trying, especially our top producers.
