  1. I agree with everything you said except the bolded part which I fixed.
  2. What's the NHLe of an NCAA .902 save percentage? Hopefully he's studying hard in his business classes.
  3. Even really bad ones? Considering the rest of the NCAA, Europe, and the CHL, it seems there would be many, many better options.
  4. Based on his poor performance, would Portillo even be picked up by another team should he not sign with the Sabres? He's not even in the top 50 of NCAA goaltenders for save percentage.
  5. Your experience was completely different than mine.
  6. My biggest complaint against Dan isn't his goal celebrations, but it's all those plays he misses. For someone like me thats on the road most nights driving my kids to out of town arenas, I want someone that can paint a picture of what's going on on the ice. He's perfectly serviceable for TV, and he's actually really likeable as a host, he just doesn't have his radio game down.
  7. He's earned nothing since his junior days way back when. Since joining the AHL, he's shown zero progress. He should have been given the #4 job this year, and let him earn his way up.
  8. Also, Ullmark was decent to good since he entered the pros. Kkkkkk has never been serviceable.
  9. Lundquist has the face for TV, but that's about it. He's really hard to listen to.
  10. Love this one! I think we can all relate... Right now my wife is talking about her work. πŸ˜‰
  11. Like Inky, I used to listen to quite a bit of WGR, but now I've pretty much given up. Even in the car, I can do about 1 hour total per week of listening to Bills coverage, then it just gets too exhausting. I don't know how anyone can listen to so much football talk and still be entertained. There's only 1 game a week. That's not a lot of material to talk about. At least with hockey there's usually a game every 2 or 3 days. Then there's the gambling and fantasy talk... NO THANKS!
  12. 15 years or so ago when the Sabres were good and the Bills were bad, the Sabres were the primary topic of conversation on the morning and afternoon shows.
  13. I voted YES, but then I think about the goaltending and then I feel shame.
  14. Is Tokarski (or someone like him) really that funny as a #3? Or did you confuse my 3 with a 1 or 2?
  15. Adams' good as far outweighed his bad, but I think most of us saw his one mistake coming a mile away. That mistake was that UPL should NOT have been counted on as the #3 goalie in the organization... He still hasn't had just an average season in the AHL let alone a good one. UPL was not a good plan with a 41 year old in as the #2... Strangely, it was our #1 going down that got him in the NHL lineup, which is even worse, since Anderson's seemingly too frail to be shouldering the load. He had he gotten a proven AHL vet like Tokarski back as the #3, we'd likely have another 2 wins right now, and UPL would have had to fight tooth and nail for his NHL existence, rather than looking like the sloppy mess he's been so far. Maybe someone with more time on their hands than me can suggest a trade to Adams that brings us in a reliable NHL netminder, while sticking to our long term vision. I know many won't agree, but I'd personally even be willing to part with Levi at this point (given he's still a crapshoot), if him and maybe another pick could bring us in some proven long term help in net.
  16. In another thread I mentioned he's 30-something in PPG in the WHL. As much as we don't want to believe it, the reason is likely that he's just not playing well enough right now. Let's hope that it's just a short term injury holding him back.
  17. There may come a day where we can't afford all the talent we've got in the hopper. Considering our young offense is going to get even better by the end of the year (than the 2nd in the league for GF), I'd say the future starts now. Let's get a goalie and get ready for a playoff run #1 this season before we can't afford all these potential future stars.
  18. Disagree, he's way too far on the short side of the net, and somehow looking way smaller than his 6'5 height suggests. At his size the angle could have been completely cut off.
  19. Savoie is 33rd in WHL points per game right now. Is he playing hurt? Seems like a cause for concern.
  20. I'm calling this a sample size anomaly. He is what his AHL stats say he is- not an NHL caliber goalie.
  21. We still need a viable #3 goalie, especially with a 41 year old #2 and a #1 that's missed significant time. UPL has proven that's not him.
  22. Agreed, but given we're not getting a number 1 or number 2 goalie, it'd be nice to at least improve our number 3.
  23. Another major bone of contention with Adams' goalie plan for this year... If your backup is too old to shoulder 2/3 of the starts if your starter goes down, he is not a true viable backup goalie.
  24. As I type this the Sabres are tied for 1st in the league with NJ for goals scored with 90 a piece.
  25. I mentioned a guy we should make a grab at as a number 3 in another thread and got roasted for it. That guy has an AHL .939 save percentage vs kkkkkk's .898 in Roch.
