Yet. The Buffalo Sabres were a long way from contention when he took over. They just missed the playoffs by a point. KA is not going to mortgage the future but I would hope he’s considering some win now options much more than he ever would have in the past. Didn’t make sense then. It does now.

Mitts is already a great middle six utility player who is coming off a good year. We’ve spent a long time developing him and I think we’re finally seeing some dividends. With Quinn out until Atleast the new year he is not at all a throw in to be ‘added to the mix.’ He has good value and excellent chemistry with some of our big boys (especially Dahlin) and I hope he stays and extended for a reasonable price.

His average TOI was a shade under 18 min last year and 16:03 the year before so not sure it’s top 4 minutes he was getting. This does sounds good.

@LGR4GM Early to ask but do u know of Benson would be eligible for AHL in D+2 season or is he like Savoie and would have to go back to WHL?

Obviously Sabres development team feels last years playoff wasn’t their peak and the talent projection is there once they get him into the org and under buffalos direction.

Yup Maybe it’s my bias of watching him get lit up like a Christmas tree when the leafs came to down but I’m ready to start winning now.

Abso-friggen-lutly Maybe I’m drinking the cool-aide too hard but the Sabres looked very good for long stretches last year with one of the youngest teams in the league. The kids who we needed to see develop and become leaders did that before our very eyes. It feels like a billseque step may be coming if they can add that big piece or two to a young group littered with talent. Now is the time.

I finally have seasons so won’t need tix but would love to meet up with the group beforehand for drinks or atleast intermission. Please update this thread or keep me in the loop! Thanks!
