  1. Rec ultimate frizby player myself in college ?
  2. Paging @New Scotland (NS) NS to the white courtesy phone please
  3. This is so true in life. There are so many dumb rich people. Makes me think alot of them must have inherited it or are extremely smart at their chosen profession but lack in several other areas.
  4. A bit different with carlyl gone but ducks have to be top 3 imo.
  5. It was interesting to learn he will be given an 'A' and become part of the leadership group as a junior. Yes every college coach pumps their kids tires but some nice quotes from Murray as well.
  6. These are the dog days for sure. But this year just feels a little different. Usually by this time all the big names have signed. We’re still waiting on guys Gardiner, the big RFAs (there are still several). There is another huge metoforic shoe that has to drop on the NHL so that keeps me logging in here several times a day. Some big moves due to salary have to take place. Question is when does it all start? Maybe the Callahan dump starts this all off.
  7. Living in the Great Satan I have taken in more leaf games than I care to admit hanging with friends. On one hand Gardiner can be a tire fire come playoff time. He's good for atleast one bad turnover per game (he's been my 'favorite' leaf the last two game 7's with the B's because of his giveaways). I also really worry about his back issues. On the other hand he's a really good skating and puck moving D. Fits the JBot mold to a T and I don't doubt he will be a very nice regular season addition in trying to get us to the playoffs. My prediction if they sign him is he quickly becomes the team whipping boy but I agree that 90+ points should be very attainable if he and a 2C is added with Risto moving out.
  8. Good analysis. That nhl.com piece on Samuelsson was a good read. Sure sounds like he will be moving over to Roch after this season. Maybe one year there and then he could be knocking on the door. He is much more mature and physically developed than some of his peers at that age. I could see him having a real look in two seasons. Also need to keep in mind he is as close to a stay at home defenseman as they come. His numbers this year won't jump off the page but IMHO he is the exact type guy we need. So many offensive puck movers who can put up some points. Can't wait for a great skating stay at home D.
  9. I keep checking in half expecting to see Brawdo starting a thread with trade details. We continue to wait.....
  10. Great analysis but also don't sleep on Pekar. He was on fire to start the year in Barrie before getting hurt.
  11. I thought I was out but plans have changed. Not sure I’m able to fully commit yet but I think I will be able to make it.
  12. Is it usual to have heard zero details on this more than 24 hours after the hearing?
  13. I don’t think we can say this until we know the salary. Erod at $1.5 is a nice piece for the price and skill set. At $2.65 that is no longer true imo. A one year at $1.8 or so is fine with me.
  14. Dahlin and everyone will also realize how good Montour is.
  15. I think it will end up a surprise team and therefore nobody in our radar.
  16. Ding ding ding. This is what it boils down too. TM and JB have completely different philosophies on how to win in the nhl today. I believe in the fast skilled model above the big physical one. Maybe that’s why I’m more than ok with where botts has this team. But again, sabres have to take that next step though or my thoughts will really sour. I think a 2c trade is coming and sabres really going to surprise this year.
  17. I absolutely love the video. I really appreciate the time @Randall Flagg does. Amazing poster. But you can find random video examples of nearly anything. I love it as a contributory post to a greater point. Not as the sole basis of the point.
  18. I love Dahlin. I love Montour. I love Pilut. None of those guys come close to doing some of the physical work that Risto does. Now rumours of Gardiner. You can’t have all those types come playoff time (I know I know, let’s get there first). Is there even fancy stats available on that type of thing??
  19. Disagree. Atleast it’s something. He and McCabe are the only guys that clear the crease, that’s why it keeps happening. I don’t want to keep Risto solely for his physical play but I don’t think this is a quality that should be completely overlooked either.
  20. If guys whack at the puck after the whistle he’s one of the only D that will do something about it.
  21. You don’t have to fight to be tough. He’s doesn’t take crap after the whistle.
  22. So good. He really is so good. Risto or no Risto it's going to be very interesting watching this young defense grow together. Dudacek is spot on. I fear what a physical team will do to us but there is miles and miles of potential right now. It really is shaping up to have the most potential that I've seen on this team since atleast the 05-07 teams. Not in style at all but contribution.
