  1. Today marks six straight weeks that my daughter has slept through the night without waking up, and I also find out if I am being hired for a federal position I have been waiting on for two months.
  2. I forgot about that signing, yikes, right on the heels of his statistically worst season ever.
  3. Need some advice. Every year my brother and I send funny/gag gifts to each other for our birthdays. Last October on my b-day, my brother found the best gift in years, a Marty Moose Eggnogg glass that Clark Griswold drinks from in National Lampoon's Xmas vacation, its a thing of beauty. How can I top that? Any inputs are greatly appreciated.
  4. If the guy is truly a locker room cancer, doesn't matter what his stats are, you try to move him and upgrade elsewhere. I think there are plenty of GM's out there believing he needs a change after all the losing here and would give up a 2-3 D-man and good prospect player. I'd like for him to change and be around to pull us out of this mess, but if not, then so be it.
  5. It's a shame that the Sedin's are retiring without a Cup, yet, Jordan Nolan has his name on it.
  6. 1. He's a liability because he's hurt so much, question is, do we just suck up his contract one more year and be done with him, or buy him out and be on the hook for part of the salary for several more years? I say, let him finish it out, maybe he miraculously plays 60 games, is effective, and we can uload him at the deadline for a 4th to a team looking for playoff depth. 2. Doubt we can trade him, unless a playoff bound team is hurting for winger depth and experience at the dealine. 3. absolutely 100% agree letting these bums walk 4. I think I would let Girgensons stay and try to rid oursleves of Larrson. To think that there was a rumor a few years agho that Chiacgo offered Patrick Sharp for Girgensons, sorry I can't remember where i saw that. 5. I would like to see RoR traded, he has value for sure, and I think we could get a 2nd pairing d-man and a prospect. I can't remember the game, it was after New Years when Eichel was tearing it up, we had won, Eichel was on the bench fist bumping every player as they headed to the tunnel, RoR completely ignored him, could be nothing, but maybe there is something to them being co-capts and RoR was a b!tch about that in Colorado so... 6. Sure, he's a fine 5-6-7 D-man with some upside
  7. That is an incredible stat for the Spurs. Agree with the bolded, we have had to worry about the Sabres, when the league took the team over, the future wasn't certain. We got nervous about the Bills and if Bon Jovi was going to move them. I know that my friend has had a difficult time selling season tickets for games he couldnt go to the past two years and he has lost a lot of money and is not going to renew for next year. I hope a lot of people dont renew their tickets and send a message that losing and last place finishes 3 ouf last 5 years is unacceptable. I do not want to see fans throwing Jersey's on the ice Oilers style, but, fans do need to make it very well known that something needs to be done.
  8. There was a time I thought that RoR, Risto, Reinhart, McCabe, Eichel (of course) were pretty much untouchable. With the exception of Eichel, anyone should be in play to try and shake up this mess we have.
  9. Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, I didnt read it, but it fits for the next season thread. Pierre LeBrun retweeted a TSN Insider tweet, part of it said, "Sabres taking calls on a core player". Normally I wouldn't think much of a rumor like that, but coming from LeBrun and TSN, it holds a lot of water with me. Could be a draft day deal or sooner?
  10. Maybe, just maybe, Russ should quit the Sabres and focus on the Bills, and have a dedicated hockey operations guy full time to handle all those things.
  11. I see your point, however, I would trade the last decade for sure and all that playoff fun. there are some parallels, they might be letting him go or maybe not, there's no way to know for sure yet. We also let some franchise talent walk in 2007, I realize that this GM isnt at fault, but it still was the Sabres org. True, our owner is willing to spend, hike up ticket prices every year, and still have a garbage product on the ice. I am having doubts of Terry as an effective owner.
  12. Um, the Sabres have had 5 playoff wins and no series wins since 2008, the Senators have had 23 playoff wins, and took the Pens to 7 games in the conference finals. I don't think you can say "far worse than anything we've expereinced over the last ten years"
  13. I think this is the Patriot way of freaking the Bills and Dolphins out that the Patriots are going to try and move up and draft Rosen. I highly doubt they do this, they will have to make several more trades to keep moving up. Are they really going to give up that much draft capital and lose out of numerous other impactful rookies when Brady could still play 2 more years? I think this is a smokescreen to get the Bills to way overpay to move up in the draft. They are likely positioning themselves for Rudolph who probably play well in McDaniels system.
  14. There are numerous things you can like about how they finished the season, IMO, the #1 is that Reinhart seems to have figured it out. I know, I know, many here are worried its just Stafford disease, time will tell, I am hoping it's not an anamoly and he can continue his play next year right out of the gate. Eichel will likely continue to be a PPG player, maybe slightly above if we can get him a winger or two that can keep up with him. Worried that Okposo will never be the same, he did play well just prior to his injury, but, are injuries going to continue to be a problem with him? Defense is still a massive ? Unless we land Dahlin, we will be weak yet again. Poor Ullmark and whoever else are between the pipes. Playoffs, no way, there isnt going to be any Avs style turn around.
  15. I am not trying to start a fight with you, and I know what it is, I'm just failing to understand the connection to the book/movie with it along with Trumpism and the alt-right. Some douchebags harrassed female game designers (horrible, i am not knocking that) but the actions of a few have now ruined any and all games, movie/shows related to games?
  16. Uh, I'm at a loss, and have no clue what you are talking about. Gamergate? Vile male gaming culture?
  17. I went and watched "Ready Player One" this weekend. For someone who has read the book three times, I was worried that I wouldn't like the film, however, it was incredibly fun to watch. I knew going into it to temper my expectations that the movie would be just like the book and just let myself enjoy it. The whole group I went with has read the book and none of us were disappointed. It is kid friendly as well, I can only remember one F-bomb and it was hilarious when it was used, I wont spoil why it was funny in case you are planning to see it.
  18. I agree completely. he doesn't have a whole lot to work on skill wise. a lot of Sabre fans, not just here, are worried about his size and strength. He has a whole off season to train with a professional staff, call it 6 months to put on muscle. The average person can put on .5-1 lbs of muscle a month, Casey, being a natural athelete with a professional staff could put on 2-lbs per month. There's no reason to think that he can't come to training camp and pre-season with 10-12 lbs of extra muscle, he'll be stronger and more explosive.
  19. I saw another interesting stat regarding Eichel vs Matthews, in Eichel's career against Matthews and the Leafs, he has 1.37 PPG, and Matthews has .66 PPG, clearly Matthews is far superior. It is what it is, both guys are going to be great players over their careers, and i look forward to a playoff series between them.
  20. I follow a Penguins blogger on Twitter because he actually knows hockey and isn't just a homer. He gave Eichel some kudo's the other night saying that Eichel and Matthews are equally elite and the Sabres-Leafs rivalry will be incredible to watch for over a decade. The Leafs fans murdered him about making the comparison. Numeorus Loaf fans said, Eichel is good but Matthews is elite and far better. Just shake my head. Hopefully they beat the Loafs again.
  21. I can agree, but, if he is to play in Buffalo next year, what would be better for him, top 6 minutes with Eichel, RoR, KO, Reino or 'sheltered minutes' with Girgensons, or whatever trash we have on the 3-4 lines? He has a better chance to develop playing top 6 minutes with our best forwards
  22. You also need the GM on that side to be willing to make such a bad trade
  23. The Third Reichelstadt is top notch work! Their offensive play could be called Blitzkreig
