  1. What I thought was interesting was the Defensive play calling. The Bills only sent 4 after Heinicke for most of the game, coming off a week in which they sent 5 after Tua/Brisset nearly every play and beat the crap out of the Dolphins QB's. Heinicke barely got dirty and didn't get a hand laid on him for the whole game. The Bills front four did push the pocket enough and made Heinicke try to make quick decisions, with the exception of a few plays, it worked. I'm curious to see what the Defensive plan for blitzing is against Mills next week and especially the following week against Mahomes. Thankfully Allen shook off the rust and the OL looked good against a very solid DL that has multiple 1st round picks. Great football day!
  2. Yeah their D is pretty elite and they were ready for our gameplan. I know what they were looking for on that 4th & 1, except that LB that came tearing in saw it coming from a mile away, he kept to his assignment and didn't fall for Allen's fake run. I remember the exact same setup years ago, 4th & inches, tossed it to McGahee and he tore down the field for 30 yards
  3. begged the Bills to run...So just like Superbowl 25! flashbacks... I do remember Clyde EH running all over us AND Kelce being un-stoppable in the AFCCG. We really need Daboll to get the ball in Motor's hands early to keep the D 'honest' (I hate that cliche but...) We need Knox to break out as well, he had 4 targets and caught them all against Pitt. We can't be a one trick pony and only throw to WRs and only run occasionally. On to Miami, and yeah Squish the Fish!!!! Hopefully this is the game Allen needs to get back in the rhythm
  4. how about this conversation goes back to being about the Bills and what can they do to get over the tough loss? I think Pitt perfectly planned their defense around a team that they knew would throw primarily to WRs, mostly ignore TE and RB screens and running the ball. Singletary averaged like 6 yards per carry the few times he touched the ball. I think Daboll's philosophy needs to adjust a little bit. Last year I think defenses didn't expect Allen to be able to pass the ball so well but this year Pitt laid the blueprint for slowing down our air attack. It will be interesting to see what we do to get the offense going against Miami and get back on track. I think we tried looking for the deep ball too much against Pitt, need to see more short passes and off tackle runs to keep the secondary honest. Seems easy, but yeah, there's a reason I'm not an offensive coordinator.
  5. The Polio vaccine was never mandated Federally, but all 50 states and DC required Polio vaccines before any children could be allowed in public schools/daycares etc. According to the CDC, the US has been Polio free since 1979. From what I have read, most (denotes a lot but not everyone) all Americans wanted and supported the polio vaccine, it wasn't politicized the way Covid has been. What has changed so much in the US that we now have people believing the vaccine will kill us, or is some nefarious plot of the deep state, or has micro-chips, or covid was created by big pharma companies so they could make money in a vaccine etc etc?
  6. I can't stand people that rationale not getting a vaccine because you can still get the virus if you're vaccinated (albeit small, break through cases aren't that common). That's like saying, people die in car crashes even when they wear their seatbelt, so why should i wear mine?
  7. love both your paths here, i think #2 would be incredible!
  8. I would open an indoor play place for kids since there is nothing like that where I live. I picture a multi-level play area with slides, ball pits, ball canons, all sorts of various obstacles for kids to climb, tunnels to crawl through etc. I would add a small area for toddlers like 3 and under maybe so they can be separated from the big kids. I would add in a small trampoline area as well like Skyzone. I imagine several large rooms to host birthday parties and things like that. I'd have a pretty simple menu, typical 'bar food' fare; pizza, wings, chicken fingers, fries, onion rings, burgers, dogs, mozzarella sticks etc etc. The best part is that i would have an adult area where parents could hangout while the kids are playing. Beer and wine bar, pool tables, ping pong tables, cornhole and of course Fowling! Edit-retro-arcade for the adults as well with some of the classics. Pacman, Blades of Steel, Spy Hunter, After Burner, Missile Command, Tron, Street Fighter II, Bubble Hockey I live in Southwest Ohio, the summers get pretty gross and humid and of course we have winter. I think an all year indoor play place could do well. One of the largest Air Forces bases within the US is here, so i think there would always be plenty families coming through. It would be just too hard to do financially and I really don't have a business background either....le sigh
  9. I haven't been able to see any games yet, how has Cozens looked? #Sabres on Twitter seems to say he's playing well and doesn't look out of place. This a true statement?
  10. read some of the Colts MB to see what fans are saying. A lot are picking the Bills and hope they don't get embarrassed. Several mentioned they're weak at CB.
  11. wow, didn't see that about the Raven's. Yeah I do agree that we aren't as good against the run, but I think our offense getting us up early forcing Titans/Ravens to pass more will be helpful.
  12. in his last two games against the Bills, Henry has only averaged 66 rush yards. The defense is much better and healthy and playing top 10 defensive ball now. The Bills can shred the Titans defense and can limit Titans rushing attack.
  13. It depends on the point of view. Some would say that we held the high flying Chiefs offense to under 30 points for the first time on the season. Hill and Mahomes were for the most part held in check, while they are true statements I saw things a little differently. On offense, the Bills barely tried to establish the run, I can't remember in recent years the amount of empty backfields we had. This has been a theme most games and the Chiefs were ready to defend knowing Daboll's tendency to want to pass a lot. The Chiefs also know that Allen likes going for the mid range to deep balls and defended well. The Chiefs recognized that Brown has been out and covering Diggs was much easier without a secondary deep threat like Brown (I know the Rook has been decent but he's not quite there yet) The Chiefs played defense expecting the mid to deep passes and did an excellent job, the Bills didn't really adjust well either. On offense for the Chiefs, they did exactly what they had to do. They knew it was raining, knew they could run the ball against our average to meh run defense and passed only when they really needed to. Mahomes didn't have a big game because he didn't need a big game, they were gaining 6yds per carry and we couldn't stop them. If i remember correctly, Mahomes picked up a couple 3rd downs with his legs as well. Defensively for the Bills, they just couldn't stop the run and get off the field. It was a winnable game but the offense just wasn't there and it wasn't clicking. We really need to get our RBs going and improve run blocking, Allen cant be throwing 35-40+ times a game. Overall comments (not about the Chiefs game)- I think John Brown's injury has been brutal for the offense, he's a top 3 WR2 in the league and Diggs benefits from him being on the field. Dawson Knox, I am pulling for this kid but the dropsies are brutal and now he's out with covid. Kroft is slowly emerging as the TE1 and hes okay. I think we are missing Star on the DL more than we realize, he rarely showed up on the stat line but he pretty much draws double teams by the opposing OL freeing up the rest of the line. Lawson and Philips are missed, the vets we signed just aren't quite there, Hughes has slowed (though he played a great 2nd half yesterday) Harry Philips has been benched two games in a row now. Oliver isn't having a great season so far. Is Milano going to stop getting hurt and be 100%? The defense is far better when Milano plays. There's a lot to unpack with the Bills, I think we are pretty lucky to be 5-2. If we can go 5-4 the rest of the way I will be happy.
  14. You're right, I think i told this story several years ago under a thread that was about if you have ever met any players or something like that. It definitely happened though. RoR was what 24 years old at the time, I would've done it too.
  15. It's really close between two players for me. The first one isn't really a surprise, but I loved Hasek. I started getting into the Sabres when I was in elementary school. Whenever I played street hockey with my friends I was always the goalie and pretended to be Hasek. I remember taking a magic marker and writing 39 on my pads, remember those ugly hard plastic brown Mylec brand street hockey pads? I had a 3 on one and 9 on the other. I wanted to play goalie on ice but we couldn't afford all the pads. My other one is Matt Moulson. I know his time in Buffalo wasn't what we hoped it would be but I didn't like him for his play as much as the person he is. During Eichel's rookie year, I was stationed in the middle of nowhere Texas, about 4.5 hours west of Dallas. I met a few other Sabres fans stationed there as well. As soon as the schedule came out, we saw that the Sabres were playing in Dallas just before Thanksgiving on a Saturday night and decided to make a weekend out of it. About a month out from the game I sent a couple Tweets to Moulson (he handled the tickets for military program for the Sabres) and I mentioned that four Air Force guys all from Buffalo are going to the game and we were hoping to get autographs. I told him that we aren't looking for anything for free, just a chance to get some autographs. He followed me back on Twitter and started direct messaging me. He asked if we needed tickets, I told him thanks but we already had tickets, then he said, "if you want better seats, let me know, i'll get you hooked up" we had ice level seats on the side the Sabres shot twice so we were happy with our tickets. On the afternoon of the game, he messaged me again and told that when we get to the arena, to go to will-call and give them my name. There were 4 VIP locker room area tickets waiting for us! After the game (3-0 loss, oh well) we went down to meet him outside the locker room. He was super nice and friendly and introduced us to several other players. I ended up with pictures and autographs from Moulson, Eichel, Kane, Reinhart, and Risto. He hungout with us for about half an hour until he had to run to the bus back to the hotel. Awesome experience. Funny story about that night. While the four of us were waiting in the VIP area, there were three 'puck bunnies' smoking hot, probably couldn't tell the difference between icing and offsides waiting there as well. They were making fun of my friends zubaz pants etc. As soon as players started coming out, the girls were flocking to every single one trying to talk to them. fast forward half an hour when we left, we were going to a bar across the street from the Arena and saw Ryan O'reilly walking with the three girls and getting into a limo. My friend yelled "O'Reilly, can we get your autograph?" the look he gave us as he got in the limo after the three girls was priceless.
  16. Erod scored in the last Pens game, Pens fans on Twitter talking about what a steal he was and how stupid Buffalo was to trade him
  17. the scary part of this is the unknown. Corona Viruses have been around for a long time, but this strain is new according to the WHO. I have been reading conflicting reports of the severity of the sickness and I just don't know what to believe. One report stated that the mortality rate for under 40 years old is only slightly higher than the flu, 40-55 slightly elevated mortality rate and then it skyrockets over 55. As a 40 year old, how much do i have to be afraid? Some doctors say its like getting the flu on steroids with respiratory issues as well. I probably wont die if i get it, but I don't want it either, but it's spreading faster than SARS (WHO) i have a 2 year old and 6 year old, how much do i have to worry about them? i can't find a straight answer. this video pants a terrifying picture of what's happening in northern Italy. i work on a military base in SW Ohio and with 3 confirmed cases in Cleveland, the base released a statement saying that the threat is still currently low but to make preparations for base closure to non-essential personnel and to be prepared to telework if need be. Right now, 8 people in the building i work at are quarantined because they were on a work trip to Japan 10 days ago.
  18. or going to a 3 hour meeting in which you know that only about 7 minutes will be useful for you
  19. my two year old daughter (who was/is a huge momma's girl) reached for me during the bedtime routine (which only my wife could ever put her to bed calmly) last night and said "want daddy go night-night" put her head on my shoulder and wrapped an arm around my neck... i still feel that way about the military base being closed or delayed due to weather!
  20. pulling the perfectly smoked ribs out of the smoker...
  21. on my lunch today I was watching the replay of the 1980 US olympic game. Ken Dryden was commenting on one of the Soviet lines about how the three forwards played on different teams in Russia and that while they "don't work that well as a line, they're three extremely talented hockey players individually...much like the French Connection in Buffalo, Perrault, Martin, Robert didn't play great as line but they were amazing individual talents." I am too young for the French Connection, any older fans here that can either agree with or refute what Dryden said?
  22. The problem is that AJ wants a long contract, at 32, he knows this is his last chance for a long hefty contract. His recent injury concerns (only played 9 games last two seasons) and age scare me a bit. On the other hand, he could be the next James Lofton for us, you never know. I dont think AJ is the right player to target. Next draft is uspposedly heavy with stud WRs, draft the best WR available and go from there
