  1. You can also find them here.
  2. I wonder what his opinion of Sheriff Joe is. If it's what I think it is, I wouldn't be surprised in the least. Apparently the DOJ, the same fine folks who brought us Operation Fast and Furious, doesn't seem to think so.
  3. I am so sorry to hear about this. I will keep him in my prayers. As for my complaint of the week, Suze Orman is extremely overrated! When I read about her telling a married couple not to have any more kids because they can't afford it on her husband's rather-high income, I thought that the poetic justice a mother of 8 fired toward Orman's direction was just perfect.
  4. I don't need to go to YouTube to find it. A friend on Facebook provided a link to it a couple of weeks ago and said that that song was going to play forever in Hell (or something to that effect). I only listened to 5 seconds of it before I turned it off. But, yeah: I totally agree with the wallbash. That HAS to be one of the worst musical contraptions I've ever heard. I'd rather listen to William Hung sing to Hotel California. Copy the link and post it in another page.
  5. A little Christmas cheer to go along... www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2BMWFRrhw0
  6. Ok, I know I'm quoting myself (which is something I normally don't do, and it wouldn't surprise me if some people consider it to be bad form). Having said that, yesterday was my wedding anniversary and I got to be home for it. Yes, my wife had to work for a part of the day, but the fact that I made it home instead of being out on the road made it all the more enjoyable.
  7. If Sam Walton were alive today, I think he'd be appalled at the quality of workers his company is hiring today.
  8. Sorry to hear about that. I'll be praying for you.
  9. Might as well jump ship before she goes down. :D I could really care less, since you want to get into semantics (and I'm putting it as kindly as possible).
  10. IIRC I think it was Knightrider who said something around the beginning of the season where he recalled when the team had that 5-1 start a few seasons ago, only to fall to pieces afterwards. I know someone said a while back that the Bills weren't going anywhere (relocating), but at this point I could care less. Looks like the Steelers and the Saints are staying put for the long term, and I think they're worth my time from here on out.
  11. I'm sure you know the difference between a pick-up truck and a tractor-trailer. The irony in this posting is that my wife and I own a pick-up truck (Nissan Titan). However, we have absolutely no bumper stickers on there, and your posting is a crystal clear example of why we don't. I try to be a safe driver at all times, regardless of what I'm driving. Yet, there's always going to be someone out there who may take exception to my driving habits. Whether it's a "Christian" bumper sticker (which most of them are extremely cheesy IMO) or a fish symbol with a cross or ΙΧΘΥΣ in the middle of it, I'd prefer not to have it on there to get unwanted attention. As painful as some of the lessons have been, I do whatever I can as much as possible to let actions speak louder than words (and no comments from the peanut gallery, please).
  12. No kidding. I've thought about looking into the Steelers. Got some really good friends who live out that way too. Might shock the living daylights out of them if they find out I start rooting for Black and Gold. I had #5000 :worthy:
  13. :pirate: This is just beyond mind-numbing right now. Start the season off strong and then the balloon deflates. SMH. :wallbash:
  14. Sounds really nice. I hope that when I get home in early December, I can take my wife to Callaway Gardens for their annual Christmas light display (along with the fact that it's going to be right around the time of our 14th wedding anniversary). We went out there a few months ago for my first visit. The place is just absolutely stunning! As for my F3 posting this week, I made it home yesterday to spend Thanksgiving with my wife.
  15. Get your dancing shoes on! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cz-maDy57PE
  16. I have more respect for people who are born with Down's Syndrome along with their families than I do for the retards this article exposes. It's no wonder they help to make things more expensive to buy! Oh, and while I'm on a roll, here's one thing I have to say to the "Occupy" movement. Since some of you aren't really looking for work but are using it as an excuse for various other nefarious reasons, I'll cut to the chase: if you don't work, you don't eat. Plain and simple.
  17. Sounds like they want us to adapt to North Korea's penal codes. Just not as draconian...yet. Sorry you have to deal with that. Seems like all of us at one time or another come across people like that. 1, does this guy have a clue what introspection is? 2, sorry you have to go through this. I continue to try to learn from other people's mistakes (or even my own). (The BILLS joke I posted earlier in the season was a bit over the top.) :worthy: Where did you get this bizarre sense of humor from? Steven Wright?
  18. That's a real hot potato issue right there - let alone anything to do with politics (which is why a topic like that is heavily discouraged on a forum such as this). IIRC, the Founding Fathers put in a system of checks and balances for a reason. As bad as that sounds, I really can't think of anything better than what they instituted when they drafted the Constitution. Yeah, and on top of that, they don't observe Thanksgiving. Maybe you should send William Bradford and John Winthrop her way. ;)
  19. I just got to thinking about this. FWIW, when Jim Kelly was scouted to play college football, IIRC PSU had a spot for him, but only as a linebacker. That wasn't what he wanted, so he went to the University of Miami to be their QB. Of course, they say, the rest is history. OTOH, had he gone to PSU and done the LB trick, he would have been forever associated with PSU. I can't help but wonder what's going through the minds of all the alums (and not just our beloved owner).
  20. OUCH!!! :o If that isn't saying "out of the mouth, the heart speaks," IDK what is. Now, for something that's REALLY good news, my wife got pre-qualified for a mortgage. That'll get us out of the hellhole we're renting right now from someone who's only a rent collector, and perhaps get something where the mortgage payments will be lower than the rent itself. On top of that, once I'm off the road and home daily (hopefully within a year from today), we'll start the adoption process. BTW, thanx to all for the adoption advice yesterday. I really appreciated it.
  21. Every profession has its "nature of the beast" - including the transportation industry. Even if I was home daily, I'd probably have to do something on one of these major holidays. After all, tankers have to deliver the fuel that keeps the cars on the road (and which is something I'm seriously looking into because I would theoretically be home daily). It could be a lot worse, like someone who's in the military and is deployed overseas. I've never been to Korea, but I hear that a one-year tour of duty over there without any family whatsoever is considered a hardship tour.
