  1. It's always them negative waves. If only they would say something righteous and hopeful for a change.
  2. And too much line shuffling from Disco Dan.
  3. Or the Smythe Division from the '80s. This stuff is borderline not watchable as an entertainment product.
  4. Hmmm. Averaging 6.5 shots on goal per period through 2.
  5. Black Dog riff just then the best thing in the game so far? When in doubt, go with Zeppelin IV.
  6. This game is horrible so far! And I see the line combos didn't last 1 period!
  7. Lehner's mask is horrible.
  8. The atmosphere in the building right now makes me think the crowd forgot the tank is officially off this year.
  9. Anyone else see that mop on Cowen's head? Wow that's a lot of hair.
  10. That glove hand has me begging for Enroth! :w00t:
  11. I think Eichel will join company with the great Rob Ray by scoring in his first game as a Sabre.
  12. Looks like this game will be shown at 10:00pm tonight on NHL Network.
  13. This is a "meh" signing but no big deal. He won't be around when we are looking to do big things anyway. The market is dry right now.
  14. Here's a 13 minute segment on Hockey Hotline with K-Sly and Petey. http://media.wgr550.com/a/106968948/ryan-o-reilly-on-hockey-hotline.htm?q=o%27reilly
  15. This is incorrect. You have to say: "Sooory, eh?" :w00t:
  16. Is there something specific you don't like about the Spirit? I'm curious b/c it's a $300 jump from roughly $400 to $700 to go from Spirit to Genesis and I was just about to order a Spirit from Amazon! They seem very similar in construction in the important ways, such as porcelain enameled flavorizer bars, stainless steel burners, and so on. We have a great independent, old school grill store in my area. The dude only sells grills and grill parts. He was telling me the other day that Weber is now the only grill company left in existence that actually offers and sells spare parts for grills. The rest are made to be thrown out basically. I have a long standing tradition of using Weber; just curious why you seem opposed to the Spirit line.
  17. I think you're getting a little carried away, too soon. That's just my opinion of course. I predict Samson won't even start the season in Buffalo; it will take Eichel a season or 2 to truly adjust to the NHL and start to really show his true potential...there are a ton of new pieces that need to mesh together, including the HC and coaching staff. And remember something: we can improve by 30 points and still fail to make the playoffs. I think the playoffs are at least a season or 2 away. Doesn't mean it is not an exciting time to be a Sabres fan or that the upcoming season won't be fun and interesting. Simply crafting a lineup from night to night intended to win, and not lose, will be a huge change and refreshing development.
  18. Utterly predictable but a wise decision. Another feather in Murray's cap. His ability to separate good hockey players from bad is massively better than Darcy's. Thank goodness.
  19. We were always going to get a lot better when the massive amount of gathered potential was realized. The question is not whether we have improved, we were bound to do that. The question is whether the potential was maximized, which I assume and hope was the goal of the organization. I think we gave up a LOT for O'Reilly, as much as I like him. The key to that deal is going to be McGinn. He is not a "throw in" or a "cap dump" at all. If he can rebound and stay healthy with a congenital back problem, he could be the difference in that deal. The Lehner deal was flat out bad and a mistake. Murray has proven that once he finds his man, he will overpay to get him. He clearly thinks Lehner is the guy going forward. We'll have to see how well that plays out. I expect us to make further substantive additions with FA and look for a LHD as one of those moves; I would love to see Rej come back to Buffalo. Overall I think Murray is doing good work. He is clearly not afraid to make moves and modify previous modifications to the team, constantly looking to improve. He has mentioned the target is constantly moving, which is a healthy mindset to have in his position. How it will all mesh and how long it will take to come together remains to be seen. In a few years, O'Reilly and Eichel should make us as good as we were with Drury and Briere, plus something more. That's cause for serious excitement. Those guys and the 2006 campaign represent the high water mark of this franchise, and it's going to get better soon.
  20. Follow Kris Baker‏@SabresProspects The #Sabres select D Brendan Guhle 51st overall. Beautiful skater. Solid physical presence. Was great at CHL Top Prospects Game. Eliteprospects says Guhle is built like a tank and loves to hit and doesn't mind being hit. Great skater. Calm and poised with puck, great positioning away from puck. Likes to be difficult to play against. 6'2"
