    Well Foligno wears # 82 and his father wore #17, the second digit of which is "7" which added to 82 = 89, Mogilny's number. So it does make sense if you think about it.

    Weber was always a #7/marginal NHL level of talent kind of guy...but I liked him and he had a lot of heart. Went to bat for his teammates many times. Good luck to him moving forward.

    Word up. I don't see him as part o the winning equation once "the team" is settled. Now saying ROR gone for 3-4 weeks. Sit him for the season. We'll drop straight down the rankings nicely.

    I believe it was Aristotle who suggested the ultimate end of all human pursuits is happiness. If the new job with pay raise would have robbed you of happiness, the extra cash would not have mattered. Ultimately, nothing matters other than happiness. I think you made a good call on this one.

    Watch the hit again. Catenacci needs to learn to keep his head up. He was staring at the ice forever and really bent over such that his head was about belt high relative to any player on the ice. Gudas did not make an exaggerated motion to elbow Catenacci, he did not leave his feet, he was not skating at him (just gliding). Was there intent on the part of Gudas to hit Catenacci in the head or jaw? Probably! But good luck proving that. Hits of this type used to be much more commonplace. Scott Stevens is in the HOF and he looked to hit people more or less in this manner consistently throughout his 22 years in the league. Predatory? Scott Stevens literally ended the career of one of the league's stars, Eric Lindros, because he saw him cutting into the center of the ice with his head down and thought: "Hey, I'm going to knock this guy out." You know, like a predator. No penalty on the play. That sort of thing used to be called "hockey." It used to be accompanied by the saying "Keep your head up, kid."

    Justin Bailey was freaking fantastic in his debut. Eichel is out of gas; the NHL schedule is catching up to him. Lehner is still rattled from Marchant's penalty shot goal. We are nicely poised for a big time sell off at the deadline and then a month or so of garbage...for a really, really high draft pick. I'm in.
