    I'm listening and I agree with him. We'll find out Murray's intention soon enough at the trade deadline. I think he'll sell off everything he can.

    Does anyone have any insight as to why Darcy is leaving the organization? I haven't read anything other than "personal reasons" but I'm curious what that means in this case.

    The only flaw on an otherwise perfect game from John's perspective was when he didn't break Bettman's arm during the handshake at the end. Way to go John!

    Always enjoyed her back in her NESN days and she is getting better with age. And hey! I'll get to see the Sabres in HD tonight! Feels good to leave the usual 1984 VCR recording quality of NHL Center Ice behind and join the 21st century! You know what that means! He's been traded!

    Our coach isn't that good. His player usage has been maddening all season.

    Eliminate guaranteed contracts. They have destroyed the NHL. There is little competitiveness among teams on most nights. The "spectacle" hardly makes for compelling viewing.

    I'll say that 1 in 10 Sabres games over the last few years have been worth actually watching. I've taken to scheduling a second activity to do while "watching" the games now. The entertainment product now is literally not strong enough to singly hold my attention for the duration of a game.

    You've stated almost all the points I was going to make. Murray definitely overpaid and he's made several mistakes so far. The overall build and structure of the team remains sound. The Winnipeg deal is going to turn into a "meh" affair, but I wasn't sold on Myers anyway. He way overpaid for Lehner who is utterly replaceable and not the No. 1 goalie Murray thinks he is. I now want to see how Murray handles the veteran sell off at the trade deadline and what he is able to get for them.

    Lindy overstayed his welcome by many years. He was the problem then (among many others) and Bylsma is a problem now. Bad hire at the time which really called GMTM's genius into question. That is, unless GMTM always planned this year to be Tank #3 for Top Player #3, and wanted to camouflage it all in a big name coach that would appeal to mainstream fans. Not sure.

    Pat Foley is a broadcasting god and I greatly enjoyed his call of the game.

    I've taken to doing something else while watching these games, kind of like my traditional approach to baseball. It makes it much more bearable.
