    I think draft day will be fun this year. Murray is a gambler and wheeler/dealer not afraid of action. I'll be surprised if we pick anyone at 21. That pick will be used to move up into the sweet 4th tier of talent, or maybe to acquire a slightly more seasoned but young player already in the league. Depends on what he is thinking and what his plans for this upcoming year are. That's just my hunch. I'd be shocked if we use all our picks where they currently stand. We know we will use Pick #2, at pick #2, to draft a prospect! Beyond that, I think it's more up in the air.

    :thumbsup: :beer: Glad it seems to have worked out, so far at least. I was once waiting in an office as part of a callback 2nd interview. The HR director came into the office where I was waiting to tell me someone would be in to talk to me soon, with my application file in her hand. She dropped it, it hit the floor, the contents spilled out, and I saw the hand written thank you note I had mailed to the firm earlier after my first interview lying on the floor. It shows that at least this particular employer was keeping tabs on stuff like a thank you note.

    You mean like not knowing what "defense" means? If Murray can't spin him into a trade package (his FMV is close to zero now) he'll be bought out. Just a question of when and how Murray wants to work that. The cost of dumping him beyond this summer will go up a lot next year.

    Coming to this thread a bit late I see. I am not a fan of NHL teams in non-traditional markets where people don't know hockey, don't care about hockey, and never will. Las Vegas makes me want to gag, right behind a whole lot of other current NHL cities.

    For every goal Hodgson scores, he gives at least one back to the other team through his God awful defensive play. He's a talented dude, but he has no long term role on this team once we get good. IMO.

    Biodork is not a dork, nor does she know anything about biology. She also does not reside in central Pennsylvania. She definitely has no affiliation with Penn State University or any other university for that matter. The chemical compound reference to caffeine in her avatar is only there to cast an illusion of scientific literacy. The reality is that she flunked freshman biology in high school and didn't do much better in chemistry. After her IQ test produced a score of "mildly above room temperature" she decided she just wanted to "make people laugh" for a living. She was, in fact, last seen on a bus from Flin Flon to Medicine Hat peddling cheap Chinese Rolex knock-offs for $30 a pop while sporting a vintage Winnipeg Jets sweater. Some have suggested she may, in fact, be a native of Manitoba. Others have suggested she is evil incarnate. Still others suggest she does not exist and in fact, never existed at all.

    Yes! Saw the whole thing and enjoyed it quite a bit. I love that sort of vintage glimpse into the old NHL. There is a documentary on youtube about the "Broadstreet Bullies" that has a similar feel to it. That's good stuff too. I guess it's trite to say it, but tonight is "must win" for Chicago. If they can't win at home in a "must win" game, they aren't going to win the series. I suspect they will win. They outplayed Tampa for the bulk of the last game but the puck didn't go in. Tonight it will. At least that is my story and I'm sticking to it! I have no dog in this fight. I'm just hoping for a good, exciting game.

    Wyldnwoody44 is neither wild, nor does he sport much wood, except when he sees the Mary Lou Retton poster above. It brings back memories of the good times. Summer, '84. L.A. The grand pianos on the stairs of the Coliseum. It's usually at this point that the tears start to flow and Wyldnwoody44 utters the words: "I will always love you, Mary Lou."

    Woods-Racer lost his entire fortune investing in the "can't lose miracle product" Zima. He still has several cases of the stuff in his garage.

    I miss CBC like you can't imagine. I also miss Gary Thorne from the old ESPN days. He was a great hockey broadcaster. I believe he's still the play by play guy for Orioles baseball.

    I think we might see V. start the 2nd period. Bishop seemed to tweak his injury a few minutes ago. It seems lower body. *EDIT* Well, maybe not! I'm surprised he's still in there. I think this is a mistake.

    Hmmm. Not Bishop's best effort on the goal. It looked like he saw it.

    No doubt! That 4 on 4 stuff was crazy. And that play where Hossa got tripped...smart penalty! Saved a goal. But what a great, patient play by Hossa to go around the defender and Bishop...would have been an easy layup but for the trip.

    Excellent comment by Spndnchz...preceded by an interesting insight from Nucci...followed by some sharp criticism from Thanes16....shot by Toews stopped by Bishop. Holy Jesus. Wicked.
