    I am still not actively rooting for us to lose, but this team is still a work in progress, we have some key injuries, and we are headed into a brutal stretch of the schedule. Oh, and it's January and we are in the league basement. I'd love to see us bottom out. Why not. Add another big time piece.

    It's more accurate to say nothing usually happens in these types of scenarios. I have a good feeling about this one though. With all due respect, this isn't game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals. Let all hell break loose, Kane included. Foligno is a good fighter who is feared throughout the NHL, at least among a certain class of would-be fighter. There are a lot of "tough guys" in the league who don't want a piece of Marcus. :lol:

    I was never a fan of Bylsma and didn't like the hire. His ice time allotment and player usage so far has been frustrating. I'll go on record as saying that when this team "arrives" Bylsma won't be the coach. Is this going to be Tank 3.0? No. But I predicted a bottom 5 finish before the season and we are headed in that direction. More than a third of the season is over now and after 29 games we have 25 points and are in 2nd last position. Last year after 29 games we had 22 points, so we are 3 points better than last year. This season we are on pace for 71 points. Is the team underperforming or are most Sabre fans expect ions way too high for this season? It's both, but more of the latter in my opinion. We need more pieces. I'd love to see a bottom 3 finish if possible.

    It's what I'm hoping for. This team isn't going anywhere, nor were the expected to, nor should they really. This is a year of development and learning and hopefully steady progress. Nothing more.

    I'll say Eichel. His learning curve lasted about a month. He is already in a position to start dominating certain teams and taking over games on given nights. We all knew he'd be good, but I didn't think he'd be at this level until next season.

    Goalie equipment can be made to be much smaller without causing harm to the goalies. That is what needs to be done and it sounds like that is the direction they are going to go in.

    Hey, nose candy did wonders for John Kordic's career and lots of others too. Get him back in the lineup! This reminds me of the time Al Iafrate was scratched from a game and the on-screen graphic listed the cause as "Depression."

    Reinhart is now my favorite developing kid to keep an eye on. He has the mental component we were hoping for in spades, but is still lagging behind physically, and that is hurting his game. He is going to need more time.

    Just finished watching the game finally. Couldn't believe Risto with the last second goal! The guy has a knack for getting the puck through from the point and a great shot. If this team ever turns into the monster we all hope it will, Risto will be an ENORMOUS cog in the machine. If Eichel is Untouchable 1, Risto is Untouchable 1(a). We were outplayed and out-shot badly at times, but got some goals at key moments and "found a way to win". A win that was borderline underserved and/or stolen based on talent making key plays at key times. Now there's a twist!

    He's talking about the classic "Samba" indoor soccer shoe from Adidas, which has hardly changed at all since its inception in 1950. Another model Adidas has not screwed with over time is the classic Stan Smith tennis shoe. Adolph Dassler basically invented the modern sports shoe industry in the 1930s. I look forward to seeing what his company does with hockey.

    Thanks for that! What a gem! Never saw that. A few thoughts that struck me... I don't recall John Tucker looking that much like Jagr! Dave Andreychuk was a huge guy, particularly by the standards of his day. Mike Foligno looks and sounds like a mob boss.

    Let's try to make the playoffs first, then maybe win a series, then maybe win a Cup. Then we can start to talk about "our dynasty." :doh:

    Oh for sure; I figure bottom 6 or so in the league. It would be crazy if we actually won the thing, finally, now that no one is thinking of doing that or expects to.

    Remember when sports arenas weren't whored out for naming rights in the interest of making a nickel? The Forum, the Spectrum, the Aud, Maple Leaf Gardens, Boston Garden, Madison Square Garden, Chicago Stadium.... Good times.

    I always rather disliked Philly sports fans and thought they were all worthless. I can now think of 2 good reasons why I was totally wrong.
