  1. Ugh. Even on the NHL draft i cant get away form the efin Pats
  2. To steal a line from another board. "Someone show me a freakin' baby!" I am not good at this waiting thing.........
  3. Deslauriers signs a 2 year deal Sabers trade for the rights to Jimmy Vesey. Does this increase the chances of a trade involving Zemgus?
  4. It's pronounced Gill-BURT Pair...Purr..Parr-road? .... yeah.... I dunno.
  5. Not a frequent poster but I wanted to thank you all for posting about the prospects in the last few drafts. I like hockey, but up until the last few years the draft was 'eh' for me. Bunch of guys I had never seen, most of which i had never heard of before. Earlier this year it was which one of the top 3 D-man will fall to us at 8. Now, if i read this right, Crusader has two being available and we go for a winger of whom I have had prior knowledge (thanks to many here). And now Liger has me thinking seriously about second round prospects. I find myself coming back to this thread several times a day. Many thanks.
  6. Brawndo, I'm going to second what N'eo said. Thank you.
  7. I love the idea of this thread. I took up photography about 5 years ago. As someone mentioned upthread, DSL cameras allow me to take take several pictures of the same thing, but use different settings to get a different feel. I get immediate feedback on what works -- and doesn't. I was never good at film photography. I had no patience for it. I enjoy looking at others work. It gives me a ideas on seeing something from a different angle or perspective.
  8. From the Article: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/ryan-o-reilly-masterton-trophy-nomination-earns-widespread-mockery-160004745.html "..... Ryan O’Reilly is the Buffalo Sabres nominee for the Masterton Trophy, given annually 'to the National Hockey League player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to ice hockey.'" Does knuckle-head stuff in the off season prevent one from being considered for in season awards? Now THAT kind of thinking seems like it should "earn widespread mockery."
  9. Brussels is the home of NATO as well as the de facto capital of the European Union. CNN reporting that Belgium has been behind the curve in intelligence gathering and sharing.
  10. I loved how after the goal the entire bench emptied and celebrated together - for quite a while. Even Lehner was a out there. After the group hug, they gathered at center ice and acknowledged the fans. These guys constantly stick up for each other. Every perceived cheap shot is answered by a teammate. This is such an easy team to cheer for.
  11. Bump. Almost there. btw I dont comment much, and my job requires a very early wake up. I tend to read all the GDT after the fact. Thanks for the humor and the updates. Much better than only seeing the highlights.
  12. I wanted to top your BR and found this. I'll just leave this here......
  13. I really enjoyed that piece. I am a huge Bills fan, but more and more I find I really LIKE the Sabre players more. Sure, they're in the bottom 5. But they are entertaining, and I expect an exponential improvement going forward. It's an easy team to root for.
  14. Serious question. What are the shafts of the stick made of? I see the "whippy-ness" of the shaft on slap shots. Is that the trade-off? Also, why don't they sprint off the ice when it happens.
  15. How did Armia and Lemieux get elevated to 'core' status? Miller just got old. For a while, he was elite. For me the two I hold most responsible are Roy and Vanek. Always seemed to me they score the 4th or 5th goal in a 5 - 2 win. But it was tied 2 - 2 late in the 3rd -- nothing from either of them. Although to be fair, the Sabres could use Vanek's slap shot in the shoot outs
  16. Risto went 2 for 2 on the targets. On his 3rd shot he missed the net completely. Then the wheels came off.
  17. The new servers will be fine. And tomorrow when it's up and running, can someone post the Eichel hula hoop thingy?
  18. Lehner. Still don't know what we have here. Even when he returns, it could be 2 - 6 weeks of playing himself into shape.
